Lakers vs. Cavs
Thursday, Jan. 12
7:30pm
TV: TNT
Radio : XTRA 570/ESPN 1330
Recap | Box Score | Photos

Lakers - 99
Cavs - 98

Kobe Shines Late, Lakers Top Cavs
Kobe Bryant shook off a wrist injury and made all three shots in the final 90 seconds, lifting the Lakers to a thrilling 99-98 home win over visiting Cleveland on Thursday night. Bryant, clearly bothered by a sprained right wrist, struggled early with his shot, but sank the game-winning jumper with 8.6 seconds left. Bryant's performance overshadowed an outstanding game from Lamar Odom, who had 20 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

I'm gonna be at this game. Hard to be excited after such a ridiculous defensive performance against the second worst team in the league. I saw the look in Kobe's face near the end of the game... I hope he breaks his career high tomorrow. :mad1:

I'm scared right now but I keep having visions of Kobe dunking on the Cavs and us blowing them out hahahahaha :man10: and some other visions:

LeBron sucking and having terrible FG's, scoring under 20pts

Kobe getting 52pts, and us winning by 11 :freak2:

After every loss we should win, Kobe has an extremely selfish game and we win big.

lakers didn't do a good job getting kobe the ball in the 3rd, which is when he usually goes off....

anyways, we can definitely win this one, but the team should really play D....I expect kobe to try and shut down lebron

i hate how at times the lakers can play worse then the blazers, ...but then the Lakers can at other times play much better then teams like the mavericks and pacers.

Its hard to tell whos gonna win.

we'll be ready. kobe is gonna be super pissed. phil is going to rip into the team. i expect us to jump out early. play with a lot of energy on both sides. this is a big game considering we lost to the blazers, then we go to GS. we need to have a little momentum heading into the matchup with the heat. wow, still cant believe our terrible performance against the blazers. :disagree:

damon jones is gonna be playing 2 guard. Kobe is gonna let him go off for about 50 points cause he wont respect his game.

LeBron has been on a streak of 6+ consecutive 30+ games. I REALLY want Kobe to lock down on him and I want Phil tp also put Gump on him. Although Gump has no chance he can get under his skin. :mhihi:
Kobe will 1000% get his 40+ going

i'll be really suprised if George isnt in the starting line up.

Kobe trying to guard Lebron will be bad business. Lebron is just too big for him.

ok tonights game has a couple of HUGE advantages.
1.Smush and Sasha won´t get burned. Eric Snow is almost the most harmless player in the league offensively.

2.Damon Jones and James have NO CHANCE to defend Kobe, neither do they have a tough front court behind them to clog the lane. All we need to do is draw quick fouls on Ziggy and win by 30. :man11:

Kobe needs to limit the 3s if he is not in the zone.
But darn it, we need a defender and a scorer beside him.

You can guard these two?

This should be interesting.. the last few years, Kobe vs. LeBron has been delayed due to injuries. Hopefully they'll both have a HEALTHY game.

I hope Phil starts Sasha at the 2 and Kobe at the 3 so Kobe can guard LeBron instead of Damon Jones. I seriously believe if Kobe plays LeBron he'll hold him in check while guarding Damon Jones will lead him to wander around and we'll get burned by Damon Jones from 3 because of Kobe's bad habit of not guarding average player.

I'm gonna be conservative and say Kobe's gonna score 55 points tonight and leading the Lakers to a 108-102 win.

That's too true. But the thing is, who would have predicted that the Blazers guards would have ripped us last night?
