Couple of things from the 1st half

1. I love Steve Blake, love.

2. Caracter needs to learn how to score over tall players, pump fakes, getting his shot up quicker, something.

3. LO looks really good, I think the World Championships were great for his confidence.

4. This is a fun game for preseason, probably because both teams are actually trying.

My impressions:

1. Blake rocks. Seriously. He's one bad mofo.

2. Lamar probably looks better then ever.

3. Poor Kobe.

His footwork in the low post is 10x better than Josh's ever was. His challenge will be whether or not he can adapt his game to NBA size. Even though he looked better than Ebanks in summer league, IMO Caracter is gonna have the tougher time of the two making the transition. Ebanks will fit right in with the Lakers in terms of what they're looking for in a long, athletic(ish) wing who defend the perimeter, run the wing during a fastbreak and hit the occasional outside shot (the one area he needs work on). Caracter on the other hand is gonna need to perfect his jumper and his pump fake (very important for an undersized guy) and work on converting off P&R due to his lack of size. He'll still be able to iso against similarly sized bigs, but of the two rookies, his game will need to change the most.

As far as you doubting this and doubting that, it's pretty obvious what the LA FO thinks when you consider which guy they gave the guaranteed contract to.

Kobe should take some easier shots to get his rhythm goin.

Gotta say.. so far, these preseason games are too messy to be that fun to watch lol. It's preseason, so I understand. But yikes
