Hope they murder the Celtics in Games 1 and 2 coz despite a homecourt advantage, the 2-3-2 format somewhat balances everything.

For me, it must be a 2-2-1-1-1 coz you will really feel the homecourt advantage with this format.

Thanks to Utah, our trip through the 50-win western conference bracket wasn't as bad as I originally thought. I was sure that whatever opponent we faced from the east would have played less games to get there than we did. Which ended up happening as I expected, but thankfully Boston only played one less game than we did, and since we have HCA, it all evens out since we won't have to travel to play on Thursday.

Wait, didn't Boston play one MORE game than LA? 5 against the Heat, 6 against the Cavs and 6 against the Magic vs. 6 against the Thunder, 4 against the Jazz and 6 against the Suns.

Your right. I thought the Cleveland series was 5 games.

In any case, the Utah series helped to make our journey to the Finals less exhausting than it could have been. The last time Utah was at full strength (2 years ago), they took us to 6 games.

Who is the Clublakers member that breaks down the match ups? That's where we should start I think, the match ups. I'm glad we have Artest because I believe he can slow Pierce down. Plus, the Celtics don't have Powe which played big for them two years ago. Granted the Celtics have Wallace now, but I think if Lamar comes to play (as he did in the first couple of games against the Suns) he will run circles around Wallace. For now, I can only use the Magic as a measuring stick. Celtics needed six to close them out, we only needed five and that one loss came with the Magic shooting lights out. Lakers in 6. Win games 1, 2, 4 and 6.
Buckle up! This off season is going to be some ride...

Boston was 18-0 when leading after Game 5 until the Magic beat them in 7 last year. Phil Jackson was 9-0 in the Finals until the Pistons beat LA in '04. Numbers don't mean s**t. Not to mention a good handful of those 47 series wins came with the Bulls or a Laker team of which only Kobe and Fisher remain.

It's an interesting statistic, but nothing more than that, and anything can happen. Still, winning the first game would be better than losing it, since being ahead is better than falling behind. I'd like to see the Lakers win at least the first two games before losing any if they don't sweep, and win at least one on the road. And a win is a win, so I don't care what the margins of victory are, though it would be satisfying to see some blowout wins by LA. Then again, breaking their hearts with a game-winner and/or buzzer-beater by Kobe or Fish would be nice too. :jam2:
