Its like Dr. Buss is guarding the Celtic rim this second half. Nothings dropping

Carmelo dropped 30 in the first half in a game earlier. And he left early in the 2nd quarter. Opposing teams score at will. This is probably the worst defensive coached team in the league. Only thing holding it back from being the worst statistically is the star players doing something about it based on their skill.
We had 10 assists tonight and shot the ball like crap. This team simply doesn't try on D when they don't get involved offensively. There was no flow to the offense at all, just one on one crap the entire night. It's close to impossible to win games playing this way.
THEY SCORED 95 POINTS AFTER 3 QUARTERS!! AND THEY'RE ONE OF THE WORST OFFENSIVE TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE!! lol. Kobe was on fire for a stretch and literally kept us around 12-15 points down for several minutes. But we were just trading baskets. Could've done something if we had better D during THAT particular stretch.
It's the coach. As much as we criticized Phil for no D this guy MDA is even worse. Supposedly Brown was defense minded but we didn't see it. Don't think either of these guy planned anything.

Or by Kobe and Nash at least. But not to diverge from the game and what you guys are discussing here but I was just reading something about the Lakers and the Celtics, which from what I can tell is probably the greatest rivalry in the history of all sports, and it made me think of the 2010 NBA Finals between LA and Boston, the first basketball playoff series I've ever seriously watched as a high school kid (I'm really late, I know). But I remember how great of a series that was, from Game 1 to Game 7. Living on the East Coast, almost everyone around here hates the Lakers so that was legitimately the first time I ever saw the Lakers play and win a championship. I was literally just flipping through channels, and I didn't even know there were NBA playoffs going on until I got to ABC and I saw Kobe hit this crazy fadeaway jump shot. I remember how awesome it was to watch this team. How stunning Kobe Bryant was with his moves and determination to win, his WILL to win. By Fisher's leadership. Lamar Odom's versatility as an athlete, Ron Artest with that clutch three to seal the title. Phil Jackson, the legend himself. The Triangle offense. And you know there was something unique about this team. As I see Kobe finish out the tail end of his career, I just wonder if these Lakers will be extraordinary to watch like so many die hard fans can attest to once he retires and seeing all of you on CL and all my other Laker fan friends, most people have been a fan at LEAST since the late 1990s or so. Some of you have over 20000, even 30,000 posts and that just shows how passionate you are about this team and how much you know about the game, the technicalities to the history of the Lakers.
Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Shaquille O'Neal, the Afro Kobe/Prime Shaq era...Yeah I've missed all that, so all I can do now is look up Youtube videos and get to know the Lakers history (I bought the "Complete History" NBA dynasty DVD series) and try to enjoy it 10 years later and pretend I know something about the Lakes. But it's hard to accept I've missed so much of the history that's already been made. It distinguishes me from the other fans. I don't know as much, and I haven't seen much except for the last few years. And it just bums me out because I love basketball so much, it's my favorite sport, and the Lakers are my favorite team. And Kobe is someone I seriously look up to. His determination, his fearlessness, and ability to persevere and reach his goals without surrendering to fear or failure has been quite something to see. It would have been awesome to grow up around someone passionate about basketball and this franchise. And to just be part of the real, "die-hard" Laker fan base. But man...Ever since the first time I saw Lakers play I was inspired more than I thought I could be, even strengthened in a way.![]()
Nice post, dude... but maybe you should have started a thread on LD? Gameday threads get filled up so fast, I doubt anyone will read it.

Yeah i said it lol, Bill Simmons clowning on our season and struggles on national TV is karma. I hate Boston..I just hate em.I can't stand their approach to the game..i hate how they have wannabe "tough" and "mean" goons...I hope we run em to the ground when they come to Staples..I don't even care about the season anymore, I just want a classic BEAT down against the C's.

I don't hate him but I never respected his game. Too much talent with too little work thinking he's too entitled.

It's his attitude I hate. I can't stand the clown persona (or maybe that's really him).
