Lakers realllllly need to stop giving up 40 point quarters. This must be the third or fourth time it has happened. Like usual, they only seem to give the slightest attempt towards playing an actual basketball game once they are down by at least 15, making the entire thing just wasted effort all around. Lakers are the worst team in basketball right now if for no other reason than their complete inability to not self-sabotage. I have never seen anything like this before. It's almost as if they are doing it on purpose. They literally have not been prepared to play any of the past 5 or 6 games, and every game feels like they are literally relearning how to play basketball as they go.

I respect Jason Kidd's game. He played 38 mins with 2 shots only which means he was completely focusing on the defense on Kobe. He is a so dedicated player and does what the best for his team.

I don't know about the first part of your post, but the last part is surely right. Team utterly lacking in identity, or if they have one it's all negative: standing around a lot, on both sides of the court.

no, more like sarcasm for all the Lakers fans who say it's D'Antoni's fault for everything wrong with our effort or team

no melo, no amare (yes, he will make a difference when he comes back, don't kid yourselves), no shumpert...no problem. Meanwhile, we can't win a single game with Kobe and Dwight and decent role players....

I'm surprised we were not blown out. And I know Melo went out of the game. This team was down 22 (?), but they fought.

There might not be moral victories, but there are losses you can build from.

That last 7 minutes was stupid. I don't get it. Why can't any coach say NO to Kobe isolation. The Metta isolation/high post on smith I can see, as Metta is fresh and that is a huge matchup.

But Kobe went to the hole several times and had easy lobs to dwight. EASY!! And Meeks needs to pump fake once in a while.

Meeks and Ebanks missed their shots in that stretch.

REALLLY!!!!! Go to Meeks and Ebanks and a tired Kobe rather than Dwight???? They ran not a single play for Dwight. Not one. Makes no sense. If he gets fouled, it slows the game down. Great.

I don't get it. Stupid basketball. I hope Nash waves Kobe off on that high post up non-sense. It is so stupid.

When was the last time that Kobe-ball CLOSED a game for the Lakers???? it doesn't work. run the ball inside out. wow.

Wizards will be looking for blood. They know this team can't play and win. Will be watching just to see how bad this will get.

why doesn't any1 call kobe out for his transition defense... he is the worst i've ever seen.

we were making a run in the 2nd and two plays in a row he goes for the steal instead of getting back and stopping the ball.

I know he isn't the only one but that is not leadership.. he basically saying F IT... and we gave up a lay up and dunk in the fast break both times... I am sick of it

but its ok cause he will make a few 3's at the end of the game to get it down to 10 and still lose but its ok cuase he made a few wild 3's.....

"Melo was a video game tonight. I don't play 'em but I guess you push the X button & goes in every time" - Jason Kidd

Melo had 30 with more than half of the third still left, he probably could've gotten 50 but Woodson taking him out at the end of the first definitely slowed his flow as well. He has a sprained ankle so hopefully it's just day-to-day and he can recover quickly.

The team definitely started playing less hard and smart when we got the big lead, but Lakers also ramped it up. There are positive things to taken as a Laker fan for sure, just don't know if moral victories are what you guys need right now. I will say though that there were open looks, especially Meeks I believe who could've cut it to 7 at a pivotal point but missed.

Anyway good game guys. I am a Knicks fan for life but I always root for the Lakers and truly believe that with time ya'll will be OK. Just need to keep in playoff contention. I know everyone talks about how Nash won't make a big enough difference, but I still think he can really change things up.
"Like I say to people all the time, I don’t care what Brooklyn do, I don’t care if they have a better record than we do this year, we still got “New York” on our chest. We’re still New York’s team, regardless of what Brooklyn do." - Ray Felton
