Right.. Odom can play any small man on that floor. Terrible unit even worse shots no ball movement. Gasol looked like a wounded blind giraffe with parkinsons disease. Kobe must have watched a wafer video and tried to emulate.

What an embarrassing finish to the game. The Lakers had a 10 point lead early in the 4th, and were outscored 17-33 to end the game while giving up runs of 16-0 and 11-0.

Hopefully this is just partially the effect of the high altitude so they will shake this off and take care of business the next game, but if Pau is really tired from all the minutes he's been playing then that could be a lingering issue until Bynum returns.

Also, the Lakers defense has been for the most part horrendous, they really need to work on it since the Lakers should win if they score 112 points in a game.

game 5 of the nba finals earlier year was by far worse, to me at least.

These are one of these games when we need bynum. I think odom might of gotten hurt tonight. I think that's why he didn't play much.

I'm aware Odom can play next to Pau against a small matchup but Phil opted to use Barnes and Artest at PF instead.

The only reason runs are made - no timeouts called by the Coach.

^ Well he shouldve used LO at center. PAu was that bad.

Our defense has been pretty bad throughout the 8-0 run. Tonight, even though we scored 110+ points, our lack of defense finally caught up with us.

Great game by Shannon though.

Love it. Phil reminding his players that if you play down to the opposition, it WILL come back to bite you in the a**. He was also reminding everyone that shots won't be falling EVERY night and that in the end, defense will ultimately win games. I loved his decision to take Lamar out of the game and let Pau fend for himself. Act like a b****, lost like a b****. Gasol needs to learn that there are times when the team will need to lean on him and the opposition won't be wearing Raptors or Timberwolves colors. Man the F up.

And BTW, about that "other" 7' guy that folks said we didn't need...yeeeeeeeah.

Any report about odom? Injury maybe?

yanno i hate the whole "denver's high altitude had something to do with our bad play" arguement. Its a very very slim advantage at best. I don't recall denver ever being undefeated at home in any nba season. We were just outplayed, plain and simple. I don't blame kobe at all as he and shannon were the only ones being aggressive and didn't shrink down the stretch.

this was on pau. he was on the court, but basically didn't play in the second half if that makes sense.

Exactly. WHen the reports came out about CB for Drew, MANY wanted that to happen, saying how, "Pau has been play C since he's been here and Pau can hold his own, etc." Can you imagine if it was CB and Pau matched up tonight? Pau did NOTHING against Al and Nene!

Pau was worse than Kobe tonight. We run the offense through Pau and he let himself be pushed around by Al Harrington.

In any case, it was defense that lost us the game. Not offense.

I'm surprised with how ineffective pau was tonight... I can't remember the last time he played that bad. He's just that good. With kobe, hell yes.

Pau played like a girl. He prob was a big factor in our losing.

But in the end, the trend I've been noticing that even in our 8-0 winning streak, our defense has been bad. We've been giving up a lot of points. We're winning games by outscoring the opponents. I hope that isn't a trend like in some of the previous years.

Defense has to be a focus again. It's early so I'm not gonna make a big deal yet. It's early and they JUST came off an 8-0 streak. They're on probation in my eyes.
