It's a sign that the Spurs want this more than the Lakers. While the Lakers went through the motions and stopped playing defense when it looked like time would expire, the Spurs never gave up on the play and managed to have a wide open desperation shot which should have been contested.

If this is all the effort the Lakers plan to give, then we can expect another loss to a top tier team.
