Drew will be back for this game, so our defense should improve. The Spurs just lost to the Blazers by 13, so they'll be fired up for this one. We need to match their intensity and treat this like a playoff game. Otherwise, this could get ugly. Go Lakers! Please give SA their 9th loss of the season.

This is one of those games Lakers really need to win.

Going to this game tomorrow. Must win game, I would love for our team to whoop the Spurs azz and send a message to the rest of the league

this is probably the most important game of the season so far....mainly b/c we have lost to all of our main competitors and lots of trade talk going around.....a win today would bring the panic level down.....if we lose expect the trade talk to go up even more.

i hate the spurs with a passion. almost as much as i hate the celtics.
lakers struggling lately with decent teams and losing to the good teams.

This was a big shock to hear. They aren't losing very often this year. This really puts the pressure on the Lakers because this is a must win in terms of morale and making a statement to the rest of the league who by now, hopefully, they are seeing this team as spent and anyone can beat them. They need to make this statement now before the break. But back to back losses for SA with the way they are playing? Tall order...

The Lakers have struggled with the "elite" teams all season long. What makes you think this will be any different? Even if they play well (and that's a big if), it will probably still be close, maybe even down-to-the-wire, assuming the Spurs play like the team with the best record. Mason & Ireland on ESPN 710 were kicking this around a little while ago. The Lakers so far this year have failed to beat any of the contending playoff teams. Ireland said he doesn't expect them to win but in the event of a blowout he thinks it's a good idea to break up the team now while they have marketable trade items. He said Buss is such a gambler and the need to produce star bound teams is so great in this town he just might go for it. According to John he would keep Kobe, Pau and LO, everyone else should go. He also put up thoughts of getting Melo and Dwight Howard after his contract is up. Can you imagine all this?

I don't listen to sports radio, so I wasn't aware of the discussion. I don't think the trade rumors will lead to any actual trades, but if it's a Spurs blowout tonight, the rumors will definitely pick up steam. I just hope the team actually shows up.
