Because 16 of Kobe's shots have come on iso's which just kill anything offense this team had in the 1st 5 minutes of the quarter.
First of all, I'm sick of all this talk about how it's all kobe's fault when there's an ISO play.
What is the coach for? I mean, that's the coaching staff job, to design an offense and draw plays.
Mike Brown listed his plays (stating what opposing teams would have to look out for) during a practice report the other they and he said "kobe's post ups, kobe's ISOs ..." He is the one that feels the ISO works. He is the one who fails to design an offense that even allows something different than mostly post-ups or ISOs. He is the one in charge of that. Not Kobe.
For example, the other night when kobe hit those shots to close the game agains the warriors, Brown said "(...) you just say to guys like kobe 'go out and make a play'". That's his coaching direction. That's his "designed play".
Sure Kobe could maybe find better shots out of those ISOs, or tell Brown that he doesn't like them because he isn't being efficient in them (which he would never say), but he isn't to the blamed for the ISO itself IMO.
Second, still, defense and rebounding were BY FAR bigger problems in this half, and yet like less than 5% of the posts addressed that, while at least 40% of the posts mentioned kobe's shooting.
