Lakers Rise Above Heat
Shaquille O'Neal scored all of his eight fourth-quarter points with less than three minutes remaining as the Lakers pulled away for a 98-83 win in Miami on Tuesday. Six of those eight points came on dunks, including one where O'Neal went coast-to-coast. He finished the game with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Devean George added 17 points and 11 boards for L.A.

we will win with or without Kobe. Brian Grant and Lamar Odom are way too small to be guarding Shaq, he will be the Dominator. The only thing we will have to worry about is Eddie, but if Kobe comes back then he will solve that problem. Easy win. I think there will be a lot of great highlights involving Shaq, especially if Luke is starting. Expect 35+ from Shaq.

I agree... Shaq will come up big for us.

I have a feeling the Lakers will beat Miami. I know the team's been struggling on the road, but I think after the win against Orlando, the guys will be ready to play and take this game easily. I also believe at least one of our injured will come back, so that will help. LA by at least 5 points.

naw..the news said kobe won't play..but i dunno..it's kinda risky..hope we'll win..how many wins did we get so far on this road trip?..does anyone know?

Player Updates:

Kobe Bryant will not play. He did get the stitches out of his finger which is good news. More time to heal it. I suspect him to be available for the All-Star game. -- Link

However, Mo Carter was signed to another 10-day contract. A reserve guard that I like alot. I'm glad they resigned him to another 10-day. When Kobe comes back, he will probably be released though. No big deal though. -- Link

Kobe will be back soon, we'll do fine without him. As for Mo Carter, he's working out great for us and deserves another 10-day, good for him. :jam2:

lakers always lose then win when playing in Miami. Last yr they lost to heat in miami so this yr they will win.

that's how easy it really is.

ps - i wont be surprised if lakers lose tomorrow, b/c we know how they can be after coming off a great comeback win.

I was listening to 710am (The McDonald Douglas Show) and they were saying how Kobe just came out and said he's leaving next year. Not because of Shaq though, but because of Phil, supposivly he hates him and can't stand him anymore. I didn't think this was true, because if it was it would be big news. And people were calling questioning the truth of it, but Joe McDonald said that his sources said so. Has anyone heard anything or can they comment?

What about those MANY reports saying Kobe was upbeat and happy?

The way Philly has treated him, booing him when he won the All-Star MVP, probably has made him want to resign with the Lakers. The people of L.A. have been here for him ever since his rookie season.

I highly doubt Kobe Bryant said this, especially in the middle of a season, not to mention playing alongside three of [arguably] the greatest players of all time.
