Ah, thanks they finally put up a box score...

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

Unfortunately not in Cincinatti... over here they're on KCAL (Channel 9 Los Angeles) and on Fox Sports West.

Looking at the box score, another thing I noticed about Mihm, that I liked. He stayed out of foul trouble. Cook and Slava had 4 fouls each, Mihm was by far, more active and aggressive on both ends of the court, and he only had two fouls.

Yeah, that was great, especially considering he went up to block three dunk attempts and came back successful each time.

players will probably get more calls against them come regular season(block/steals etc.). i saw the highlights and i was assuming the ref's were being a little bit easy on the calls since its preseason.

i think its gonen be tought this yr to creat some open shots. Yes Kobe was on fire scoring wise but he did a decent job passing sometimes trying to hard. Not BAd 1st game other than Mihm, Brown and kOebs scoring i wasnt impressed

I agree, that was a big issue with him on the cavs and celts, he's improving which is great to see. He'll be a solid guy on the floor for this team cause he stays agressive and is getting better at playing smarter, not always harder.

Lakers vs Sonics game gets high ratings.
LA Times: The Lakers' exhibition opener against Seattle got a 6.3 rating on Channel 9, the highest rating for a Laker exhibition game since 1996.

Wow I can't believe that got higher than last pre-seasons opener with 4 hall of famers on the team.

Doesn't surprise me, everybody wanted to see what Kobe was going to do. How "his" team is, and how he would be physically now that the case was dropped.

That's pretty damn good :jam2:

Because this is the first time Kobe gets to jack up as many shots he wants, since that run where he averaged 40/game

man, kobe has great stats, other than the 4 TO

TEAM G GS MPG FGM-A FG% 3PM-A 3P% FTM-A FT% OFF DEF TOT APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
LAL 1 1 41.0 13-21 .619 7-13 .538 2-2 1.000 .00 1.00 1.00 3.0 .00 .00 4.00 5.00 35.0

Did they not count that big block of his as a blocked shot?

Well if this game is any indication of how the season will be, we're all in for a very athletic, young, talented season. This Lakers team, if merged together under Rudy T just right, should be able to compete. To what extent? Time will tell.

Welcome to the new era of Lakers basketball ladies and gentlemen.
