I'll say this, if the Lakers had drafted Beno Udrih instead of Sasha, Beno would be starting right now.

"Basketball reasons" is as believable coming from Mitch Kupchak as it was coming from David Stern. #IWantedPhil

Damnit, the Lakers even had to get screwed by the Spurs in the Draft.

That's why the Spurs wanted to trade up for Beno, because they were afraid they'd loose him.

No, they are better at evaluating talent than the Lakers scouting department and GM.

I'd rather see Slava run the point.

Well I hurt someones feeling. they locked my post in regards to LO incompetance. It does not belong here because its not about this game, its about who he is. We are in trouble if he is our 2nd best player. i wont elaborate but read my post in LAKERSDISCUSSION. Its clear, as to what we have in LO. Other than Kobe LO is the only other player we should expect quality out of. We lose

^^Spurs defense focused on Kobe first of course and the Odom second. What do you expect? Spurs have the top defense. Statistically they are tops in everything except opponent 3 point percentage.

Odom was given a few givemes but had to work for everything. He went up against Duncan and Rasho, the leaders in blocks combined. Then you add Horry who can get up in the air with his deceptive quickness.

Plain and simple. Example? Ginobili.

Listen to your excuses, Duncan OK, Rasho :man10: Horry :man10:
He needs to figure it out. Do you think LO as our 2nd best player puts us in good shape to make a legit run at playoff spot 456 seeds. please take all of LO's games into consideration

You underestimate Rasho and Horry. Duncan is the top defender on the team, but he needs help to make the Spurs the best defensive team.

Odom still needs to improve, but playing the Spurs is not a game, where you are going to put up good numbers.

I was recording the game and by the 3rd quarter I just stopped watching the game, I was furious but what can you say, its the Spurs we lost to. I knew we either would have beat them up like we did the Kings or we would get killed and we did.

:disagree:

Kobe & Lamar Odom Afterthoughts:

"Bryant pointed at the Lakers' ineffective defense."
``Every time we tried to get back in it, they hit another big shot,'' Bryant said. ``They just move the ball so well and space you out. They play with such a purpose it's tough to keep up.''

"Afterward, in a silver-lining search of sorts, Bryant found a few positives."

"At least they fed us after the game," he said. "They've got the USC game on here [in the locker room] to make us feel real good. I had me some German chocolate cake, carrot cake, parmesan chicken, vegetable lasagna. It feels good."

"This was one of the worst games we played the whole year," said forward Lamar Odom, who made three of 10 shots and had 10 points. "Everybody was wide open. It was a pretty easy game for them tonight. I'm a little embarrassed."

I'm glad Lamar said that he was a bit embarrassed

The played like a team with no pride.

This may sound dumb, but I would have loved to see a hard "frustration foul" from one of the guys just to show that they care about being used & abused, but none came...

I was embarrassed by their performance & Kobe talks about chocolate cake

Hugely disappointing
