Even though I think he is the most anticipated player in sports right now, we should allow him to play when HE's ready.

Phil Jackson said Sunday he doubted Bryant would start the regular season on the injured list and even hoped Bryant would be capable of playing on Thursday or Friday night in exhibition games at Staples Center. Bryant, who had arthroscopic surgery on July 1, probably won't play much in any case.

"From Kobe's standpoint, he looks like he's still pretty quick, he has some strength, he has some quickness and jumping ability early in practice," he said.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

Kobe, Shaq, Russell, Cook, Grant are all injured..

I'm looking forward to GP and Karl getting more time and George knocking down some big shots aswell as Slava and Pargo..

I wanna see Slava and Pargo dominate like they did in game 1.

Yeah that was fun eh? They were running just like the starters were and Pargo was making some excellent passes to Slava. Let's bring it back.

smilez i heard that match up that will be good, i mean its all cool if kobe doesnt play i mean we all know he can bring it when he has too. even if he strugles as the seaon starts we got 3 other number 1 options to use, this team will be great , fully loaded with many dangers. teams will haev a tough time decidin who to leave alone, if they can all knock their shots down. im really lookin to see lebron cause we'll lets face it summer league was summer league now its time to put up or shut up fr him plus i wanna see my main man kapono play, he came so close to becomin a laker , if only cleveland didnt take him im sure he would've been a laker. all summer i was praisin that this guy should be taken by the lakers and many doubted his draftin of the second round, but i know he'll be good. i know this is a long shot but i predict kapono havin way way better shootin percenatges than lebron if givin playin time.

Look for more of Shaq, George, Fisher, Payton, and Malone. They will all likely be extra aggressive tonight...even though it's still preseason.

You know u have a good point, this is lebron's chance to shine sort of...cuz i remember Yao Ming didnt have a good game until he played the Lakers, he put up 20 pts and 9 rebs on us...but of course there was no shaq...then if lebron can get like 21 pts, 8 rebounds and 7 assists...it'll be his frist GOOD game!

Yeah, i didn't think it was goaltending either... Sampson's gonna be used for his shot-blocking abilities

man Luke Walton keeps making these marvelous passes...problem is, without Shaq there is no interior D so the Suns can easily penetrate and draw fouls...they're not making free throws either

Yeah, I know... Shaq makes the difference for our team.

If you're impressed the way we're pushing the ball and running now, just wait till Kobe comes back with Gary Payton.
