On the bright side - Cook is playing well.

10 points 1 rebound and pretty solid defense.

Otherwise, well you had to know a win tonight is pretty sketchy at best. But ya never know. Maybe the second half will bring things up a bit. Kobe and Payton are being defended well and have both had a little trouble scoring so far.

anyone know where I can get a live radio feed? NBA courtside lives is annoying the hell outta me. Plus the last link I have is a half behind the game.

Kobe, Gary, and Cook are the only ones doing good, but we are still letting them get too many points

Kobe-14 points & 6 boards
Payton-11 points
Cook 10 points...he is going to be good for us this year, if we can find ample playing time for him

Forget Kobe exploding - this team needs to play defense now or we're looking at a real long off-season.

I knew these games would be tough with no front court but I didn't think that EVERYONE would collapse on defense as much as they have. They should be shamed of themselves, this game is a great display of just how important defense is to winning any game.

I'm delayed with the broadcast (1 hr behind) and from watching the first quarter, we had SO many defensive lapses. We're missing open shots too (Fisher, Grant, etc.).

We actually were lucky to be down by fifteen at the end of that quarter.

Kobe's the only thing going good for us so far, since he's making offense. I like Cook's hustle too.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

BEST VIDEO EVER ... AND AND THE SECOND BEST.

The bad news BDG is it doesn't get any better later on in the game.

It's almost the end of third and the score hasn't changed much

Lakers 58
T-Wolves 76

3:09 left in the 3rd

it's time for one of those classic comeback, but I don't think we have enough weapons to make a run. We need more than Cook, Kobe, and Payton

We thought Kobe was going to go off...boy were we wrong.
19 points with 3 left in the 3rd. He needs a HUGE 4th

Take any other teams' starting front court away from them and I'd bet ya they wouldn't be able to pull many if any wins out at all.

I'm just hoping thatthis doesn't start affecting the team mentally. If it does I'm hope they use it to inspire good play rather than as an excuse to sink into even worse defensive habits.

Maybe if we could get George to contribute, but he is in a huge slump. Whats going on with Russell? Give him some more minutes.

Of course having 2 point 5 minute stretch in the third quarter doesn't help out your chances either. I'm trying to stay positive but honestly, this game is done

End of the 3rd and it's

Scoring doesn't matter when your defesne is as pourous as the Lakers is - oh yeah and yer missing your entire front court - that kinda hurts too. But it's still no excuse to play the worst you can.

Either way though like I said before, it's no excuse for just how pitifully awful these guys are playing recently.

It's time for Medvedenko to ride the pine a bit and maybe give Cook a chance at starting against Denver. Just like every other Euro in the league he is absolutely non-existent on defense and it's really starting to hurt the team badly (especially in the first quarter of games).

George has given us absolutely nothing in the past 2 games. Tonight-18 minutes, 1-6 shooting, 2 points...pathetic, especially against who he's playing. He should be having a better night than Kobe, Payton, or Cook. But 2 points...give me a break, Sampson has contributed more than George so far

Just to make it worse - the Spurs will win tonight against Washington and the Kings (I assume) will beat Atlanta.

I hope the Lakes are more concerned with shaping their own game up though. But it's dangerous to lose this much ground to the teams you're competing with this early in the season.

Gotta try and stay positive (but man it's tough right now).

It's not all about offense jsm - George is in because Sampson and Walton are far worse on defense.

Slumps are what they are they happen to everyone at some time - he'll get out of it. It's not as easy for him to get open looks right now because defenses don't have to sagh off of him to cover Shaq or Malone right now. So it stands to reason that his offensive production would take a dip. Injuries are just the absolute worst thing to happen to any team, they are the "x" factor in any season's success. Up until recently the Lakers have been pretty lucky regarding the amount and severity of the injuries they've gotten throughout the season. But this season it looks like we'll make up for lost time in that department - unfortunately.
