Tues. 1/29 - Lakers vs Hornets - Predictions & Comments

Keep it up Lakers.

I have a feeling it will be a loss....EVERY time this team showed some signs of life they followed it up with a stinker. We have been here before...against the Magic, the 76ers, the Pacers etc.

Let's start a real streak.

Worst team in WC and if we lose at our home court, all today's effort is in vein. So got to be 30 points blow out win

lakers have to follow up this big win against new orleans otherwise it would be mean nothing the win vs okc. so keep it up lakers and if we play hard like we did in the last 2 games we will win. let s go lakers

NOH is a good team, they have played so much better with Eric Gordon. If the Laker team we've been accustomed to seeing this seasons shows up then this will be a loss.

I think that -- even when we don't look good -- we're better then the Pelicans. But if our guys can sustain this energy... if they truly figured it out... we are going to win this in a blowout. Time to start a real streak and make the playoffs. 3 losses more then Houston and Portland. We can do it.

^ They're currently the Hornets, but I believe starting next season they'll be known as the Pelicans with new colors and logo.

That's usually been the case, but when we had shown sign of winning a few games we never really had a true identity and now it seems like we have found one that works for us both defensively and offensively.

It would be absurd to over-look the Hornets, they beat the Grizzles @ Memphis.... and can steal this game if the Lakers come out like a bunch of chickens with there head chopped-off.

NO is I think 9-5 since Eric Gordon came back. Before, they had a stretch where they lost 17 of 18 or something ridiculous.

Can't take them lightly. Hell, we can't take anyone lightly.

The win streak continues. Our big men pound them down low. Howard makes his freethrows. taco city.

Can't take any teams lightly now. Come out and play like it's a playoff game.

^^ Agreed. Better not sleep on this team. As mentioned, they just beat the Grizz in Memphis. It's going to take some effort to beat these guys.

PREDICTION
Back in December the Lakers put a beating on New Orleans. That was without Pau Gasol and Steve Nash for the Lakers and Eric Gordon and Anthony Davis for New Orleans. That is the only meeting the teams have had this season.

The Lakers are playing well of late, and it's not just about the last two games. The defensive effort has increased noticeably over the past ten games (since San Antonio). The offense has really started flowing the last two games. LA looks to string together their first three-game win streak since their five-game winning streak that ended on Christmas. There is good reason to think they will roll tonight; it's in LA, New Orleans isn't very good, and the Lakers are looking good. Something to watch for: Eric Gordon has missed a ton of games against the Lakers, but he has hit some big shots, and two seasons ago scored 24+ twice. I'm also curious to see what Anthony Davis does against the Lakers. And everyone should fear NO's three-point bombing.
