Tues. 10/30 - Lakers vs Mavs - Predictions & Comments

One last look at where we were and how far we've come as far as a roster:

I simmed Lakers vs mavs last night on nba 2k13 because I was so pumped. And honestly, the lakers have a chance to be REALLY good. Here's how it panned out.

In the first quarter, dallas went up 20 to 8. It was ugly. They had many turnovers and struggled to score. The lakers clawed back to bring the game to 8 by the end of the 1st. They spent the whole second quarter clawing back in the game. dwight had around 8 points and they were down 3 points by halftime.

3rd quarter is when the magic came. They came out with CHAMPIONSHIP defense. Dwight was playing amazing defense, and the lakers had many steals. Kobe brokeout for multiple baskets, and nash hooked him up many times. The 2 of them were UNSTOPPABLE this quarter, they just clicked. If they can click like this in the regular season, watch out. Nash hooked up with kobe n gave him 3 WIDE OPEN 3's that he swished. Nash just DOMINATED the quarter with his passing. They entered the 4th with a 3 point lead.

4th quarter- The big 3 take over. This is where my jaw DROPPED. When it came winning time, it seemed like they just hit another level, the spacing was on POINT! I steve nash had a couple mid range WIDE open pullups off of horn screens (dwight n pau screen on each side). He went to the dwight one, with kobe on the corner n his man refusing to help. swish. 2 wide open jumpers for nash. Then came the kobe flurry. Kobe came off a great screen from dwight, n splashed an open 3. next time down, kobe took his man to the post n hit a fadaway jumper. The next play, nash and dwight run pick n roll, and nash passes the ball to dwight. Dwight is surrounded by defenders, and goes up strong to TOMAHAWK a crazy dunk. Next play kobe came off a screen, caught a pass from nash n took the ball to the hoop for a circus and one layup. At this point the lakers are up 5. collison is picks up his dribble n is pressured by nash and makes an ill advised pass that kobe intercepts and breaks out for a SICK reverse one handed dunk(similar to the houston dunk). Up by 8, 1:36 left, Game Over

It was kind of hard to imagine just how good they'll be from imagination, but actually SEEING it, was amazing. They REALLY clicked. The spacing was so great, and because of this, they just looked UNSTOPPABLE! I was literally sitting there 10mins after the game and watched different late game highlights. It was just great to watch. The defense couldn't do anything. Either let kobe swish 3s, or give up a dunk to howard, or let nash shoot uncontested mid range jumpers. I got a glimpse of how they can be if they are at their best, and play together. Final stats, nash: 10 pts, 8 assts, dwight: 15points 14 rebs. Pau: 12points, 8rebs. Kobe: 36pts, 5rebs, 11-18fga 3-5 3pt fga.

Great write up though, I know it probably took some time. I just think its silly

I've never lost a game when simming with the Lakers, whether it was home or away it didn't matter.

No minute limit.... tell us something we didn't know.....

A coach facing 82 games with some very high milage key stars SHOULD have minute limits.... or at least "budgets"......

I've never thought a lot of Doc Rivers but he does know how to "pace" a veteran team...... We'll see if we can get all these guys to the playoffs healthy and fresh.....

was just saying that it was easier to see just how hard it could be to defend us. Imagining it could be tough. So seeing it happen allowed me to visually understand how it could happen.

Barbosa just proved why we may have made a mistake with going with meeks. The man put up 18 points in the 4th.

If the box score is accurate, Dallas is starting Brandan Wright instead of Curry. Wright/Brand pretty small for Howard/Gasol.

I almost take exception to that, since that was my opinion you're mocking. Towards the end of the pre-season, I wanted Barbosa.

But the fact still remains that he's not a PG and that our bench needs a PG. He's a good SG and we had already decided to go with Meeks.

you can't say that just because of one game out of the whole year. I forgot that it was "overreaction" time of year

We should've signed him, but as a backup combo guard. That has nothing to do with Meeks. Meeks is a better shooter, and we need someone to stretch the floor.

Your opinion haha that's what I was saying to. I never wanted Barbosa because he was a little bit of a turnover guy while in Indiana at least in the Playoffs
