Tues 5/1 - Lakers vs Nuggets - Game 2 - Predictions/Comments

REBOUND DAMN IT!!!!!! We had to have given up about 10 offensive boards by now. Probably even more. All of these 2nd chance points for the Nuggies is allowing them to still be in the game.

Well you never want the Lakers to go up by too much, because they will fall asleep. A small 7 pt lead is good to keep them engaged.

That being said, their defensive intensity is lower in this one and they're making some dumb plays on offense which are turning into easy fast break points for Denver.

Sharpen up the execution and force Denver to score in halfcourt, not on runouts.

Down 7 on the boards to a smaller team is the result of poor activity and rotations on the defensive end...

Transition defense is horrible. The perimeter players just stand there watching the shot while they run past us....

Offensively it's Kobe or Andrew and little else. I knew we wouldn't be able to repeat the outside shooting we had in the first game....

Lakers shoot 53.3% from the field & hold Denver to just 38.5% shooting, but get out rebounded 30-23.

Not a good sign with all of that because we are only up by 8 points

Mixed feelings ... the Kobe and Drew dependance could hurt us on the offensive end ( though Denver doesn't defend well at all so I think we'll be able to find holes if KoDrew goes cold)

On the other end , poor defensive rebounding and poor decision by Blake/Barnes/Sessions allowed Denver to run .

Overall ,I think we should win this even if we keep playing an above average/ good game

The long boards and the dreaded "tip-outs" are killing us at that end. A couple got away from Hill and Bynum but they have done their job for the most part. Kobe, Sessions and Ebanks have 2 boards in a combined 48 minutes of floor time.... that's where the issue is....

Pau needs to rotate defensively better when Drew leaves to contest a shot. Too many times Pau just stands and stares.

If the shots went in like they did last game there wouldn't be those long boards. What to do?
