Wed. 2/23 - Lakers @ Blazers - Predictions & Comments

The Lakers actually picked up their offense a bit to close the half, what still killing them out there are some asinine calls. Can we get some of that BS to go our way?

Kobe 4-15 and the free throw shooting is the difference in the game...

Another chuck-fest for Bryant: 4-15 for 9 pts. 0 FT attempts. Pathetic.

Blazers just play better in the Rose Garden. Ultimately it's mental, Lakers have to match the intensity. The other factor is that the Blazer get away with a lot more defensively at home. Physical play is the big equalizer, especially if our bigs aren't going to match it.

He's shooting really badly, but he's giving the effort. The whole team just isn't up to par.

Being down by 6 is not horrible, considering how we usually play in Portland.

Kobe needs get involved in the triangle and stop asking for stupid P&R's.

Especially against us, and the refs are definitely letting the home team have their way.

Both of those were at home. This is in Portland, where the Lakers have always struggled for whatever reason (the Blazers and their fans treat it like a Finals game, the Lakers play badly there, and the refs make calls against us).

Best moment from the 1st half was Joel Pryzbilla airballing a free throw.

Lakers as a team have three total free throws at the half. Blazers gave 12.

He's been aggressive AND he has made the right decisions. It's rare that you can say that about Ron.

Just looked at the box score, someone tell me that 4-15 isn't correct. Really Kobe, at halftime? Have they at least been "good" shots?

This could be decided in the 3rd here, Let's see if there is any heart left in this team...

well, he took one awful shot and made one horrific pass, but otherwise, ron's done the least crappy job so far.

in fairness, the lakers woke up in the second quarter, but the officials were hellbent on giving the crowd what they want. i think someone is going to throw a punch if the refs don't clean up the game a bit.

and calling a moving screen on a stationary bynum while letting them get away with raping the lakers in the paint on both ends is just too transparent, zebras. you gotta at least make it look like you're trying to do your job.

Bynum is awful today...
