Anyone wondering if Kobe hurt his shoulder with one of those 2 dunks in practice? Or is it the left shoulder? Was there any report of how it happened?

Not wondering, we know, Kobe said it himself during an in-game interview tonight. He dunked a little too ferociously, hung on the rim, tweaked it, but he said he's fine.

What a weird lineup, Duhon, Goudelock, and Morris.

I wish we had given Morrison a second look this year....have a hunch with his new brawn, being healthy and having his confidence back apparently that he's going to be a nice role player for Portland this year. We could have used that if his stroke is back.

Well, I enjoyed watching Nash and Metta today. Great job!

Ammo is playing better than our entire bench....

Eh, I don't think we need any more slow, unathletic guys who can supposedly shoot, but when they get here they forget how. I wish him luck with sticking in the NBA I really do, but I think with us he would have just gotten lost like last time.

Stu is talking about the "consistency" of the bench being an issue.....

wouldn't that imply that they are not consistent?...

so far they are very consistent..... consistently horrid.

Well in my defense, can't really see how he looks speed wise because I'm reduced to having a portable radio sitting by my desk and hanging out on Gameday.... :man10: :mad1: :mad1: :bang:

I don't think half of those bench guys should even play during the regular season.

Oh I see :man10: , well I'm watching on a crappy stream on my laptop which wasn't much better. Again, I like Morrison, I hope he makes it in Portland, but he's always been slow, and now he's older with knee injuries added to that and he's even slower. He can shoot though, one thing he could always do is shoot.

and...... half should!?..... :man10:

I'm probably being too critical but I had hopes that having a little competition for spots would have motivated some of these guys...... as if playing on the Lakers and for a championship isn't motivation enough.

Let's hope they turn it up or we are going to run the starters into the ground by Christmas.....

Roos, I think our bench will be fine once the absolute scrubs are cut and the lineups are set. Will it be great, no I doubt it, but I don't think it needs to be. Our starters are so good I think the bench needs to just be adequate, not blow leads, just hold leads, play even. I think once we have a set lineup of something like Blake/Meeks/Ebanks or CDR/Jamison and Hill it will be good enough to give our starters breaks without falling apart. I don't anticipate Duhon, Clark, or Morris playing much if at all, have no idea if DJO and Goudelock will make the team, and all the other scrubs will be cut.

^^I was hoping for improvement and a little more sense of urgency in this group. I hope you're right and they can be adequate and keep Brown from playing Nash and Kobe 38 minutes a game again.... because if that happens we might get to where we think we're going......

I just have a confidence this season I didn't have last season, I'm not worried at all and that is not typical for me. Last season I knew we were 2nd round fodder, as we fixed no offseason needs, this season our starters are so dang good I'm just not worried, I have that confident feeling like I did for some of those title teams, like I know we are a top 3 NBA team no question.

Well, Thanks to TWC, I haven't been able to see these first two games.
Sounds like it's going pretty much as expected. Limited minutes for the starters, Lakers are in the game 'til mid way through the 3rd, Brown puts in the entire third string, Lakers get run out of the building...

I'm not too concerned either.
