I agree with this.

Have to show up with the energy and Kobe and/or Pau absolutely have to play better. At least one of them.

kobe will be fine. not so sure about pau.

Just one of them stepping up with this effort from Bynum and LO... will be more then enough to win.

Players of the game: Drew and Ron. Both played great basketball.

Kobe played a very good game defensively against Paul. And the bench was impressive with the efforts from LO, Blake, and Barnes.

I was a little concerned about what we'd get out of Ron considering how he ended the season and since he really doesn't have anyone to lock down this series. But he's really played hard on both ends in both of these games. He's one of the few guys playing like he wants this 'ship, so props to Ron Ron.

NO, while not making many shots, are getting looks they want and are more or less able to execute their game plan. we really need to wake the f*ck up and start playing like it matters.

NO scored 77 points. Fail.

78 but who's counting...

I'm proud of a win always.

Same here. We'll play. We'll win. We needed this. This was a start.

We'll make it happen. But we need more practice and preparation for friday, I think Phil will point out the weaknesses enough to show that we got it, but more needs to be done.

Everything will be ok.

Like I said before, the Hornets bigs like Grey feel they can stop Gasol and Gasol is intimidated by it. Once he breaks through that, he will be fine for the ensuing series.

After reading some of these responses in this thread I'm a little confused. Could someone clear something up for me. Yall keep mentioning Pau. He played tonight? :man3:

Baby steps....

Bynum, Artest and Odom were big. Barns was big off of the bench as well.

Is Kobe's neck hurt? His shot didn't look right

I think a bug thing is figuring out how to stop NO from jumping into bodies and grabbing forced fouls that aren't.

Seriously one of the worst games by Kobe and Pau combined...yet we still won by 10. I'll take it. I think they come back really strong in games 3 and 4 on the road.

He wasn't productive but I would take a 3/10 game over a 8/24 game any day.

Bynum has been active so far this series. He just stayed out of foul trouble in this game. Even though he had 6 fouls, he picked them up at a steady pace.

That 6th man award seems to have buoyed LO's spirits in this game. Blake coming back has also given the 2nd unit a better sense of identity with the Killer Bee's in full force.

Kobe did an adequate job on CP3. Blake was better, but he comes off the bench, so Kobe was our best starter to do it. I think it zapped some of his energy on offense.

So Kobe scores 11 and Pau 8 and we win? :man10: Thank you Lamar, Andrew, Ron, Steve and Matt.

Problem with Kobe when he plays real passive like tonight is that he doesn't get into any shooting rhythm.

Aren't we amazing on the road? Let's get these 2 in NO and end it. Pau will kick it up soon but Bynum and Odom will make up for it if necessary and Kobe.....that's rare for him. He'll definitely be there Friday.

It's probably better Kobe has an off night with a win now than in the Finals again and get bad rep for it from the world.

Yeah I think Trevor might be under the mistaken impression that he shut Kobe down tonight. I know Reggie Miller was.

I think Kobe realizes that if he wants the rest of he team to play D, he might need to sacrifice some shots t them. Tonight was an extreme though. Don't expect a repeat on the road where a lot of these will disappear and Kobe will be back to bailing them out.

Have fun. Hate it when the crew paint themselves in a corner taking our own anxiety levels along.

What a game!!! It got real loud down on the floor and at other times it got real quiet but not for long. There were some real questionable non calls half way thru 4th and folks around me started getting real annoyed and began baiting the refs in ear shot. It was so funny :man10: Sat behind Tom Hanks. Will Farrell was in the next aisle. Jack and the record producer passed.. the energy was great but Gasol is still in a funk. He had this size advantage in the post on Landry and could not believe with my own eyes how soft he plays! Bynum was eating Hornets in the paint. What a monster. CP3 is a dirty little prick and was flopping like a fool on the floor any chance he could. But that team has heart because it was a slugfest all the way...

Glad you had a good time at the game. You could have sat in the same row with Tom Hanks at the end, looks like everyone left. Were you able to sell your spare tickets okay? Hope so. Did you take pics? Wish I could have been there, nothing like feeling the excitement in the air!
Buckle up! This off season is going to be some ride...

No wonder Lamar had a great game :smoker:

Barnes, Bynum, Ron. LO all were superb.

I don't fault Kobe's bad shooting because his job tonight was Dobermamba; mission accomplished.

Pau sucked on offense but played well defensively.

Blake/Fish weren't bad.

Pardon me for posting that before a free throw. Still doesn't change the point, holding a team under 80 is superb defense
