I strongly agree with this statement. And for some reason... I'm not that upset. Maybe we're simply not good enough, for whatever reason. WE had great three years, won two championships... but we don't have that magic, that chemistry anymore. Although Barnes is a really good addition, IMO, the rest are not very motivated.

Lamar, the 6th man of the year, disappeared and is focusing on his TV show, Artest played alright but lost some of the fire, Kobe is declining (but is still pretty good) -- and Pau is doing absolutely nothing. They are pretty much crushed mentally and physically, and Bynum is the only one worth something right now. Even Fish lost his playoff magic and it's time for him to retire. Good team overall, solid couple of years, but it's time for Mitch to rebuild. Hope I'm wrong, but... some things have to be changed IMO.

Too bad.

That's the game. Dirk hitting a one-foot fadeaway and getting the and-one. Story of the night. Story of the series. Ball game.

You know what the funniest part is? If we had taken care of business and just won Game 1, we would have still believed we were a better team than Dallas. Now they know Dallas is better and will probably get swept.

There's something very wrong with this Lakers team, which is why I had that sinking feeling they couldn't get over the hump to take the lead, and unfortunately I was right.

For whatever reason they don't seem focused, they don't seem to be able to execute at all, and they seem to have no pride as Dallas pounds them into submission.

I'm not sure if the Lakers can recover from this pitiful performance on their home court. It was a bad sign when they lost Game 1 after holding a 16 point lead, and losing a crucial must-win Game 2 is an even worse sign that likely spells the end of their quest to three-peat.

The problem is the 16 point lead was a fluke. Dallas had many unforced turnovers that the Lakers took full advantage of during that run, and as soon as Dallas got it together they easily tore apart the Lakers defense and stopped them with their zone on offense.

Dallas is just better than the Lakers from an execution standpoint, which used to be the Lakers strength for the past few seasons.
