Beat them so we take that 7th seed so we can face Spurs in first round. Really not comfortable facing OKC without Kobe

If we lock down defensively again we can win this game. Actually that's the only way we're going to win because we're not going to keep up with them offensively

Goudelock on Harden. They'll both score 40, cancel each other out.

This is one of the most anticipated games I can remember in recent seasons. There are so many scenarios possible from this game, and Wednesday night in general (sourced from Lakers Playoff Tracker):

(1) If Utah loses at Memphis, the Lakers would be locked into at least the No. 8 seed, even with a loss to Houston.

(2.) If the Lakers defeat Houston, they would pass the Rockets and move into the No. 7 seed.

(3.) If both the Lakers and Jazz win, the Lakers would be the No. 7 seed, the Rockets No. 8 and Utah out.

(4.) If Golden State wins at Portland, they are the No. 6 seed, which the Lakers cannot reach even if the Warriors lose (GSW are two up in the loss column with one to play).

(5.) If Golden State loses at Portland and Houston beats the Lakers, Houston is the No. 6 seed (they have the tiebreaker over GSW).

Slow it down and play bully ball with Dwight and Pau. Rox has absolutely no answer to the arguably best C-PF combo in the league.

Run with them and we're done in the 3rd.

Play defense.

Get the ball to Pau and Dwight, and that's it. We win.

STAY ON DELFINO.

Last thing I want to see is that fool lighting us up from the 3 point line.

I don't think there's anybody that would argue that playing a slower to mid tempo game against this Laker playoff personnel is still going to be a difficult grind. Up tempo teams will of course try to speed the pace. Tonight is a great glimpse at how this "new" squad will do against faster teams.

I'm looking for Metta to find his stroke tonight. For me, he's the pivotal piece in this starting five on the offensive end. He hits at a decent clip and it makes life easier for our bigs. Even without Kobe, offense still is not our problem. Give that solid effort for 48 like we did Sunday on the defensive end and we'll at least compete with anybody.

Haven't been this anxious/excited for a game with this much meaning in a while. Great, intense, and pressure filled game.

Can't wait, haven't slept well that last 2 nights. Tossing and turning thinking of tonight.

One more fellas, LET'S GO OUT AND GET IT :jam2:  :jam2:

QUICK PREVIEW
Lakers (44-37) vs. Rockets (45-36)
10:30 PM EST

LAKERS
Won last 4
28-12 at home
27-24 vs. West

PROBABLE STARTERS
Steve Blake 6.9 points, 3.8 assists, 2.8 rebounds
Jodie Meeks 7.9 points, 0.9 assists, 2.2 rebounds
Metta World Peace 12.4 points, 1.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds
Pau Gasol 13.7 points, 3.9 assists, 8.4 rebounds
Dwight Howard 17.2 points, 1.4 assists, 12.4 rebounds

ROCKETS
Lost last 1
16-24 on the road
24-27 vs. West

PROBABLE STARTERS
Jeremy Lin 13.4 points, 6.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds
James Harden 25.9 points, 5.9 assists, 4.8 rebounds
Chandler Parsons 15.4 points, 3.5 assists, 5.3 rebounds
Greg Smith 6.0 points, 0.3 assists, 4.5 rebounds
Omer Asik 10.2 points, 0.9 assists, 11.7 rebounds

PREDICTION
If this game were in Houston, the Rockets would be big favorites, but the Rockets are terrible on the road, and the Lakers are pretty good at home. The Lakers may be fighting for their playoff berth, in which case I expect them to prevail.

Dwight Howard missed a game against the Rockets, but in the other two he has posted 22.0 and 12.5 boards per contest. He and Gasol are LA's clear advantages. Harden has averaged 22.0 points in the series, but the Rockets' bench has starred, pouring in 140 points vs. LA's 76.

Lakers 106
Rockets 105
