1. Why did former Lakers Turiaf and George get zero playing time?
2. Did Sasha really resurrect his shooting, or were those easy shots?
3. Did any of last years team play like they should be cut? I can imagine that Morrison is still on the mend, but what about Powell? My conclusion at the end of last season was that Powell had "replace me" written all over him.
4. Did any of the newbies look like they could challenge for a spot? Did any of the newbies get anything other than garbage time?

Thanks in advance

1. Turiaf is hurt and George sucks?
2. Sasha's form looked good. He might be back.
3. Powell did not look good at all.
4. No, not really.

1. I don't know, just sitting out. John Ireland spoke to Ronny but he didn't say anything.
2. Sasha looked great started the game 3/3 and even showed some attitude in getting a Technical Foul lol
3. Everyone looked Fantastic, Powell has the refs number tonight and was getting fouls called on him left and right so he couldn't get into any rythmn.
4. Pretty much newbies got garbage time. Gaffney although has looked great in Training Camp and is a pretty good defender from what was reported by John in the 3rd quarter

Ronny was resting, not sure about Dev.

2. Did Sasha really resurrect his shooting, or were those easy shots?

Can't say yet and no.

3. Did any of last years team play like they should be cut? I can imagine that Morrison is still on the mend, but what about Powell? My conclusion at the end of last season was that Powell had "replace me" written all over him.

Josh wasn't impressive at all, and I didn't even know Adam played 8 min. He took one shot and did NOTING else.

4. Did any of the newbies look like they could challenge for a spot? Did any of the newbies get anything other than garbage time?

Can't say yet. They didn't do great imo...

I didn't see the first half, so I'll answer what Ican.

1. Turiaf is hurt. Gump didn't play cause he's the biggest piece of s.... I mean, he's...well, he sucks.
3. Powell looked like he was just going through the motions, but I think his spot on the team is pretty secure.
4. They were commenting that the coaching staff really likes Gaffney, but he's not NBA ready. He'll likely head down to the D-Fenders and see if he can work on his weaknesses and continue to improve. I imagine he might get a look next summer. Gelabale looked ok, didn't do anything really impressive but he's still the one camp fodder that I think could possibly make the team, he certainly has the most talent if he's really 100% recovered from his injury. Wasn't impressed with Kelati. And Monds didn't get much time, biggest thing he has going for him is familiarity with the system from playing with the D-Fenders last season.

ammo didnt look good. gelabel impressed me thinks he's gotta chance. he's better than ammo and maybe luke. if anyone makes it its him. monds and gaffney look good but are undersized. kelati has a nice shot, but i think sasha's is better. now the real question is the backup guards. shannon, farmar, and sasha all impressed me. if luke or ammo dont show up this year we should consider putting sasha at the 3 and have all 3 of these guys on the court at the same time. but either way its a good sign that we are stacked.

OK, so Bynum got points, a few rebounds, and just a couple fouls in 30 min. Looks good on paper, but what were your impressions about how he played? Gracias in advance.

He looked good....he had good position on most of his shots and most of his moves were quick and strong.Very good game for a Andrew...hope this continues on.

He looks physically good. But, he needs to put some of his energy towards rebounding & defense or else he'll never reach his potential... Which is limitless.

He closed out a lot on drivers and would stop them at about the free-throw line. While this helps make their shot even harder, it took him out of rebounding position frequently. He played with good energy and ran great. SHould get more rebounds in the future, but he played a great game without ever stopping the ball and made a lot of smart passes out of the post.

I thought it was funny as hell how Stu and joel mentioned that all three refs were only college refs at the time and this game had only been their 2nd official nba game reffed. One of the refs even was mentioned that he has another real full-time job but just refs at night for some extra money. :man10: OMGOODNESS

On the subject of Bynum's lack of rebounds I'd attribute it more to him boxing out his man letting his teammates get the boards. Kobe and Ron picking up 9 a piece for instance.

I think Bynum looked great overall on offense, but slightly sluggish/apprehensive on defense. We saw the highlight reel alley oop dunk but no swats and few alters, hopefully he'll improve in those areas as the preseason continues.
