13 1st quarter points by Payton, wow...that's how many points he scored in the T-Wolves game...big improvement, and we still got 3 quarters to go

and we are only down by 4, I thought we would be down by more than that, if we can keep this game close, hopefully Payton and Kobe can finish it off and get us a win (unless Phil puts them on the bench too long)

10:44 2nd Quarter

Russell draws the charge-- Laker ball.

8:30 2nd Quarter

Fisher's terrible tonight. Missing open jumpshots allowing Boykins to easily score... bench him Phil-- play Gary.

Fisher has sunk back into the slump...he is playing awful defense, turning it over, and not making anything.

0-3 shooting, 2 turnovers, and he has let Boykins get 10 points in 6 minutes

Phil please put him on the bench before he ruins this game for us

I know! I don't know why he's sitting Gary so long. Fisher's awful tonight and Gary was our spark.

That's stupid coaching.

That's it BENCH FISHER!

He's ruining the game for us and letting Boykins torch us.

When is Gary coming back? Is Phil stupid or something?

I don't understand Phil's reason for benching Kobe and Payton for such long stretches sometimes, when they are doing good give them the last couple of minutes on the bench that way they get that time, the end of the quarter break, and the extra time if a team calls a timeout for a end of the quarter shot...but he kept Fisher in when he is playing terribly and has our leader tonight on the bench, explain that one

did Phil put Sampson in because Cook was struggling? it looked like he was forcing it a little too much (2 points, 1-5 shooting)

what is wrong with George, I know he depend on Shaq to get open shots, but not getting anything is just ridiculous, learn how to create at least a shot or 2 for yourself per game, or go sit down

he has played 11 minute, bad d, and has only shot 2 shots...missing them both

Payton continues to go off...now with 16 points, it looks like he hasn't lost a step like a lot of people were saying

Terrible defense... it's our role players, not Payton or Kobe.

Slava was playing great for us in the first quarter but then he got into foul trouble. Let's hope he is still hot for the 2nd half.

:mad1: Good old laker defense look like it's prime tonite.... Gotta love it
sometimes i think the lakers have no heart.. :mad1:

Only if the lakers would play to there potential.. i remeber when shaq was injured the team use to step up all the time... i guess the lakers just dont care to play hard when the diesel is gone...

:bang: :bang: I dont think things will get better if they dont play defense if shaq does return soon....

We need Malone man... Shaq will just provide a post presence. When's the last time you've seen him jump to block a shot?

For overall defense we need Karl back as soon as possible.
