Lakers Ready For Game 3 Kobe Bryant had 27 points and six assists, but the Lakers fell behind early and lost 89-71 Sunday to the Wolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. Shaquille O'Neal added 14 points and 16 rebounds. The series shifts to Los Angeles for Game 3 at 6 p.m. Tuesday (TNT).
After Game 1, it's obvious the T-Wolves aren't the Spurs, but I'm sure they'll play better in Game 2, so the Lakers must keep going to Shaq and do a better job of guarding the 3-point line. Kobe will do his thing, Karl will put the hurt on KG, GP will continue to wear down the injured Alien (if he even plays the next game), and Fish will keep on hitting big shots. I know it's early, but I think my broom will be coming out of the closet soon.
i wasn't able to see most of game one and so far have only seen few highlights but from the look of things, the lakers have gone back to the same 'ol triple post offense that lost them 2 straight to the spurs, but are still pulling out with the W. am i right?
(can't wait to dl game 1 thanks to the rescources provided in this website. you guys are great!)
What's it going to take to have the Lakers to have a team song/chant like euroleague.. teams have... I can only wish.
"Sitting in the house, I'm loadin' up the pump. I'm loadin' up the Uzi. I got a couple M-16s, a couple 9s. I got a couple joints with some silencers on them. I'm just loading clips, a couple grenades. I got a missile launcher with a couple of missiles. I'm ready for war." - Kevin Garnett
I think this could be the one game I see Minny getting. They are at home, and I don't think their home base would stand for another Laker win. They'll be more ready for the Lakers. Hopefully the Lakers bring more intensity than they did game 1 and can steal this one away as well.

"Greed is good."-a movie quote from late 80's movie, Wall Street. The Lakers should get greedy and take game 2 as well. They should not be satisfied with Game 1. Lakers need to adjust their perimeter defense. Try to prevent Sprewell from getting hot in streaks. Dump the ball to Shaq and let him drop 30 pts. Shaq need to rebound about 20 again and continue his clutch free throw performance. If the Lakers get the rebound, the Wolves cant score. A solid defensive effort by Malone is required again. He needs to keep hitting those jumpshots. A double double would be helpful.
I remember a few playoff seasons ago, Fisher became red hot with 3pt jumpers against the Spurs. (Sorry to mention this, Spurs fans). Fisher shot 75% from 3pt range if I'm not mistaken. I hope Fisher can get red hot against the Wolves and become a Wolves killer. Fisher confidence seems to be high during Game 1. Kobe need to score about 25-30 again, should slash more in the paint, and pass to open teammates. GP should push the ball and get some easy layups. Let's close 'em out!
If we lose a game, then this will be the game. It's going to be hard to beat Minny again, I mean they are at home and they won't be as tired. Still, they have no answer for Shaq. Shaq scored 27 points on all these 20 guys that were supposed to be able to limit him, the only one that scored more than two points was Kandi man. I am not worried, Shaq is hitting free throws, so they can't just foul him every time he gets the ball. And Malone proven he can contain KG. Malone actually had the better game, he matched KG's rebounds and scored 1 more point than KG did. Malone also had more steals and assists than KG.
it's hard to say, but I think Lakers will lose this one. I hope I'm wrong. The Lakers can win IF Shaq will be same as game 1, Malone same as game 1, Kobe scores 30+ and Rush, Slava and D-Fish combine for 20 at least and they have less than 10 TO's.
I agree with what a lot of people are saying. If there's any game that will be lost, it's this one. I think the T-wolves have just enough pride to take one game at home though the Lakers will win the next 3.
Lakers in 5
"Basketball reasons" is as believable coming from Mitch Kupchak as it was coming from David Stern. #IWantedPhil
Yeah,we have more cofidence when we won Game 1,just keep playing like Game 1,and don't give Spree too much room, then,we will have a big win in their home court!!
And,did you guys notice that....KG played as point guard, the reporter said T-Puppies let KG be point guard when they played Queens....I think this is not a smart decision,KG will be tired, and maybe we can easy to steal his ball well,we win Game 2!!
A lot of people are saying that the Lakers will lose this game, and I can see that happening too. However, I think this game will be a big test for the Lakers...if they can come out hot from the start and take this game it will be a huge confidence boost and should be enough to propel them into the finals.
BTW, I am watching Indiana/Detroit Game 1 right now...good game, but you can see that neither team is a true offensive threat. Assuming the Lakers get through, I think that they should be able to beat either team just because the Laker offense is better than the Pistons or Pacers, although their defense is probably about the same.
It's funny how the Lakers were plagued by injuries during the regular season, and now the other team is in the same boat. Too bad Sam's hurt, but like KG said, suck it up and move on, and anything that helps the Lakers win is fine by me.
