Lakers hold off the PistonsLOS ANGELES (AP) — Lamar Odom had 25 points and 15 rebounds, and Kobe Bryant and Jordan Farmar made key plays down the stretch to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 103-91 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night. The Lakers trailed 74-72 with eight minutes remaining, but took control from there. Bryant went just 6-of-18 from the floor, but he made two 3-pointers and had a three-point play to score 11 points in the last 5:38. He finished with 19 points. Farmar had two steals and scored six of his 10 points over the final 7:40. Tayshaun Prince had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Pistons. Rip Hamilton also scored 16 points, while Flip Murray added 15 and Rasheed Wallace and Jarvis Hayes each had 13. The Pistons again were missing Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess, both of whom were hurt in a 102-94 loss at Portland on Tuesday night. Billups has a right hip pointer and sore left knee, and McDyess has a strained left shoulder. Both are listed as day-to-day. Billups leads the Pistons in both scoring (17.7) and assists (7.0), and McDyess is averaging a team-high 7.4 rebounds to go along with his 9.1 scoring average. Down by as many as 11 points in the second quarter, the Pistons took their first lead 3:16 into the third quarter, and they were up 68-62 to begin the fourth. Sound off in our Clublakers.com forums.
