Lakers Torn Apart In Honolulu![]() ESPN.com: HONOLULU (AP) — Golden State turned up the pressure. The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t respond well at all. Baron Davis had 18 points, six rebounds and eight assists, Mike Dunleavy scored all 16 of his points in the first quarter, and the Warriors beat the Lakers 112-81 on Wednesday night to earn a split of the teams’ preseason games at the University of Hawaii. “Exercise. Futile exercise,” Lakers coach Phil Jackson replied when asked what his team got out of the game. Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom, who combined for 44 points in the Lakers’ 101-93 victory Tuesday night, totaled 15 in this one. “We stepped our intensity up, played better defense, applied the pressure,” Davis said. “The same thing they did to us (Tuesday) night. But we put halves together. Tonight, we really focused on what we needed to do. “Anytime you’re playing against those two guys, especially the great one in Kobe Bryant, you want to try to be focused as possible on him defensively. Lamar Odom, being one of the rising stars in the league, a triple-threat element … I think it was really important that we honed in on them defensively.” Bryant had 11 points and seven rebounds and Odom had four points and nine rebounds. Both came out for good with 4:16 remaining in the third period and the Warriors holding a 20-point lead. Davis took a seat 72 seconds later. Kwame Brown and Smush Parker also scored 11 points each for the Lakers. “We didn’t execute,” said Bryant, who had 28 points Tuesday night. “Tonight they stepped up their pressure.” And the Lakers didn’t respond, as evidenced by their 27 turnovers to 16 for the Warriors. Golden State also outrebounded Los Angeles 55-45. “We looked like we were lethargic out there,” Jackson said. “We shot 50 percent in the first half, and had 16 turnovers to go with that, which is not acceptable. The second half was a disappointment not only with the choice of shots, but with the execution. Golden State had something to do with that.” The Lakers took a 10-4 lead before Golden State went on a 16-2 run to go ahead 20-12. The Warriors led the rest of the way. The Lakers (1-1) will get a long rest until they travel to Bakersfield, CA to take on the Washington Wizards in pre-season action.
