"Bynum for Bosh" summer deal done?

Forum rules
As you may have noticed, there are two new sub-forums in this forum -- Sourced Rumors and Trade and Signing Ideas.

All threads should go in one of these two places. And here is how you will determine where to post (this will also help you know where to look for particular threads):

All topics created in the Sourced Rumors forum should have a source (hence the name of the forum). State where you heard/saw the rumor and a link if applicable. Good sources would be an online article or a respectable blog by a member of the media. Radio reports or summaries from TV reports (ex. Bucher on ESPN News) are also accepted, but the staff will have a quicker trigger finger with regards to these two, especially if they are being posted by a member who's credibility is questionable or if no one else heard/saw the report. This is due to the fact that people often fabricate reports for various reasons. Only sources which directly mention the Lakers or a Lakers player should be reported in the Sourced Rumors sub-forum.

Trade and Signing Ideas: in short, this is where everything else goes. Suggestions of who the Lakers should sign or trade for. Reports of other teams' players being on the trade block. To differentiate these from general ideas/suggestions, please continue to use list the source in the title, just as we did with the sourced rumors prior to the creation of the sub-forum (ex. ESPN: Nuggets looking to move Melo). Such reports would not go in the Sourced Rumors forum because they do not directly relate to the Lakers and any discussion that the rumor would spawn would be speculation and trade suggestions. Any "inside" rumors from family, friends, or other sites should be posted in the Ideas forum. Once it is supported by a sourced member of the media, it will be moved to the Sourced Rumors forum.

If you are still uncertain of where to post your topic, post it in the parent forum, Lakers Trade Rumors, and it will be redirected by a staff member.

We can't trade Bynum for anybody until the summer.

I like Bynum and we need a big who has real presence and can defend.. but he does get hurt a lot. Bosh will probably stay healthier, but he isn't exactly a big with real presence than can defend.

We get Bosh for Bynum then sign Shaq. would secure another championship next season.

Summary: Bill Simmons and March Stein are discussing unsubstantiated rumors.

Simmons then presents a rumor he's heard from a "connected" friend who has told him that, "This summer, Toronto will trade Chris Bosh to LAL for Andrew Bynum ... The deal is done."

Stein: Vescey put that out a while ago... it makes a lot of sense.
Simmons: I'm skeptical of the "done deal" proclamation, but I do think it makes sense.

Bill Simmons then questions whether Bynum can hold up for a full NBA season, then they switch topics.

LOL, we are not trading anybody for Bosh, and if we were I would rather trade Pau and hope to get Jack along with Bosh

Why would we trade a true center for a power forward who essentially duplicates Pau's skill set?

Why is this even in Laker Discussion when it belongs in the Trade Forum?

For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

YUCK, Im not much of a Bynum fan but why go out and spend more money on a position we dont need, they better be sending Jack back in this deal IF it were true, or at least take Luke with him :man12:

I love Drew, but it's unreal how people still don't fully appreciate all that Pau brings to this team. Not only can he hit the midrange jumper, post up, use both hands, but he's also the best passing big man in the league. Thank God he's not actually going anywhere.

I don't quite agree with the bolded part, because Pau is a much better passer and has more post moves, while Bosh likes to stretch the D a little bit (basically, he shoots from mid-range a lot more).

But other then that... yes, why would we do that?

I would not exactly cry if this trade happens, but I'm not sure I'd do it.

Bosh is going to opt out, so how is this trade going to be possible? And if Drew keeps playing like he has been, he isn't going anywhere.

through a sign and trade. As much as I would hate to see Bynum go, if we were able to pull off a Bynum, Walton, Sasha for Bosh and Jarret Jack I'd be all over that. Getting rid of waltons contract would be HUGE for us

^ His contract isn't that "deadly" anymore. It's like 2 years left.

Plus Bynum >>> Bosh.

Of course Bynum > Bosh, but if the Lakers are able to land a proven all-star AND a solid PG in Jack WHILE getting rid of Luke's contract, there isn't too much of a disparity in the trade between the two teams. Then you sign a pure shooter who can make the 3 and a backup PG (if Fish doesn't resign) and that to me would be a successful off season. You would be foolish not to take that deal.

The thing that worry me is that we won't do well against physical teams with Gasol and Bosh getting thrown around like rag dolls.

realgm raps fans have a 25 pages thread about it, half of them jerking off about Bynum

http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtop ... &t=1006891

one of them wants this

Bynum + Walton + Vuj + Shannon Brown + pick

for

Bosh + Calderon + Belinelli

put there Farmar for Walton and i would do it.

Fisher/Calderón
Bryant/Belinelli
Artest/Walton
Bosh/Odom
Gasol/DJ
