Houston trades - Martin / Scola / Hill
Houston gets - Pau /
Memphis trades - Mayo
Memphis gets - Blake / Hill / 1st
Lakers trade - Pau / Blake / 1st
Lakers get - Mayo / Martin / Scola
Houston doesn't have to give up Dragic or Lowry and get's to keep them to play with Pau. A plan they originally intended before Stern effed everyone over. Houston gives up Martin and Scola, which is a fair trade for Pau and something they were willing to do before, minus giving up a PG. They trade Hill to Memphis because they are declining his option anyway (We can throw in some 2nd rounders to make them happy). We can give them Ebanks or any of our youth as well, but I don't think it would be necessary.
Memphis gets a solid backup PG behing Conley to add some depth for their playoff run. Blake will give them veteran experience off the bench and lead the team while Conley is sitting. Hill gives them an extra big behind Gasol and Randolph. Speights and Hill and backup PF/C is a solid big man rotation for them. They lose Mayo, but they never have been high on him anyway. Also they get 1 First Rounder which they said they wanted 1sts for the guy.
Lakers needed a PG for sure, but can you really turn this down if you are the Lakers. We get two top of the line perimeter scorers, which in IMO will mask the PG problem because both of these guys can create and play better defense then anything we have. The added scoring punch on the perimeter will open up things for Kobe, Pau and Bynum because it is one more person defenses can't forget about. Scola is a suitable replacement for Pau and a perfect compliment for Bynum. Who needs a PG when you can have Mayo / Kobe / Martin on the outside. A late game unit of Mayo / Martin / Kobe / Scola / Bynum is just downright deadly.
Mayo / Morris / Fisher
Kobe / Martin / Goudelock
Barnes / MWP / Ebanks / Kapono / Walton
Scola / Mcbobs / Caracter
Bynum / Murphy
Not to mention Mayo expires this year and would be great sign and trade, trade bait for a really good PG if need be.
Do it Mitch.
