point guard options for TPE

Forum rules
As you may have noticed, there are two new sub-forums in this forum -- Sourced Rumors and Trade and Signing Ideas.

All threads should go in one of these two places. And here is how you will determine where to post (this will also help you know where to look for particular threads):

All topics created in the Sourced Rumors forum should have a source (hence the name of the forum). State where you heard/saw the rumor and a link if applicable. Good sources would be an online article or a respectable blog by a member of the media. Radio reports or summaries from TV reports (ex. Bucher on ESPN News) are also accepted, but the staff will have a quicker trigger finger with regards to these two, especially if they are being posted by a member who's credibility is questionable or if no one else heard/saw the report. This is due to the fact that people often fabricate reports for various reasons. Only sources which directly mention the Lakers or a Lakers player should be reported in the Sourced Rumors sub-forum.

Trade and Signing Ideas: in short, this is where everything else goes. Suggestions of who the Lakers should sign or trade for. Reports of other teams' players being on the trade block. To differentiate these from general ideas/suggestions, please continue to use list the source in the title, just as we did with the sourced rumors prior to the creation of the sub-forum (ex. ESPN: Nuggets looking to move Melo). Such reports would not go in the Sourced Rumors forum because they do not directly relate to the Lakers and any discussion that the rumor would spawn would be speculation and trade suggestions. Any "inside" rumors from family, friends, or other sites should be posted in the Ideas forum. Once it is supported by a sourced member of the media, it will be moved to the Sourced Rumors forum.

If you are still uncertain of where to post your topic, post it in the parent forum, Lakers Trade Rumors, and it will be redirected by a staff member.

odom's tpe is worth 8,900,000

dj augustin (probably have to take a bad contract)
ramon sessions and/or daniel gibson
will bynum

any team with in the east with 3+ point guards would be a suitable trade partner.

the ideal point gaurd for this team would probably be mo williams but clippers arent doing that. next best option i would say is dj agustin.

You can forget about Mo now with Billups done.....

I would want Sessions or Augustin...

no thanks on Gibson or Bynum, although it would be cool having two Bynums

I keep hearing Sessions doesn't have a jump shot, is that true? What's his range like?

You can not get Gilbert Arenas for nothing. Here is the situation with him. As a waived player, Orlando will have to pay about 60% of his salary, which is $ 19.0 milions. The rest is going to the team, who sign Gilbert. So, if we take the guy, we have to pay him about $ 9.0 mil. That is toooo much money to invest in someone, who has not played for more than a year and is injury prone.

If our management is not planing to make a trade for Deron Williams, then I am agree to go after guys like B.J.Augustine or R.Sessions.But before that, we need to waive L.Walton and trade MWP,Blake and Kapono for future draft pics, to make some salary room.

Not true

According to the CBA

14. Amnesty

Each team permitted to waive 1 player prior to any season of the CBA (only for contracts in place at the inception of the CBA) and have 100% of the player’s salary removed from team salary for Cap and Tax purposes.

Salary of amnestied players included for purposes of calculating players’ agreed-upon share of BRI.

A modified waiver process will be utilized for players waived pursuant to the Amnesty rule, under which teams with Room under the Cap can submit competing offers to assume some but not all of the player’s remaining contract. If a player’s contract is claimed in this manner, the remaining portion of the player’s salary will continue to be paid by the team that waived him.

Since Arenas was amnestied. So unless the only thing holding up Arenas signing is other teams wanting him to play for them, they can simply pay him veteran's min and Orlando will have to pay for the rest.

Well, his career 3 pt. percentage is .282. This year he's at .435. Thats a big jump. Maybe he spent a lot of time working on it? If so, he solves a couple problems for us. I'd love to see him in purple and gold.
