Lakers have wasted no time in implementing Dwight Howard high Pick and Roll, then have him dive to the hoop. Exactly same as ORL

BBALLBREAKDOWN ‏@bballSource

While u wouldnt associate ball handling wizardry with Steve Blake, he's very impressive watching him do ball handling drills

Los Angeles Lakers ‏@Lakers

Kobe on how the new additions help him: “I have a lot more breathing room. Guys can’t put bodies on me all the time.”

Los Angeles Lakers ‏@Lakers

How good of a passer is @paugasol? Mike Brown just said, “he’s Steve Nash in the paint.” Praised Pau’s versatility.

Los Angeles Lakers ‏@Lakers

Brown on @DwightHoward today: “He looked great. He looked a lot like the guy we had trouble guarding in the past.”

Los Angeles Lakers ‏@Lakers

Head coach Mike Brown on @SteveBlake5’s return: “He’s tough as nails… you couldn’t tell this was his 1st practice.”

Los Angeles Lakers ‏@Lakers

Brown also mentioned how great Blake was playing before his injury. Him & Duhon were both on the 2nd unit at the end of practice today.

Yay, return of the two PG backcourt. :bang:

Mike Trudell ‏@LakersReporter

Speaking generally about the first @DwightHoward week as a Laker: his teammates & coaches could not be happier with him, on & off court.

Mike Trudell ‏@LakersReporter

Here's @paugasol on @DwightHoward: "It doesn't look like he's hurting one bit." Howard said he's still getting his legs fully back.

Mike Trudell ‏@LakersReporter

Asked about playing with @DwightHoward offensively, @paugasol said he appreciates that Howard is "a big target." Very easy to find w/passes.

Mike Trudell ‏@LakersReporter

Nash said Howard looked great to him physically, no sign of an injury, & when asked about his own fitness/health, said so far so good.

Mike Trudell ‏@LakersReporter

LAL have 3 reserve 7-footers on the camp roster, & Howard flicked them aside during 5-on-5-on-5 drills. Too powerful/athletic.

Any soccer fan would love watching @SteveNash at practice. He pulls soccer tricks when there's a chance betw. plays. Touch is real smooth.

God that was fun to watch... Darius still is over dribbling by a lot. Ebanks is still getting lost in the shuffle. Hill's motor is still fantastic.

Our starters aren't expecting the passes as much. Gasol had one in his hand from Nash and Dwight missed the lob from Kobe. Also Kobe's one shot was horrible. :man10:

I like that Steve (Nash that is) is playing some nice D. Or at least he is trying :man1:

I see that picture of Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol and I remember them going at each other in the finals in 2009 as the undisputed best big men in basketball and now we have them both on the Lakers. Unbelievable. I'm getting more excited every day.

Ferguson, we hear you.
RIP Mike Brown.

CDR had a real nice drive on Jamison and Hill in that video.

DJO / CDR......I would like see make the team over Sacre/Glock

I definitely wouldn't mind having DJO and CDR on the team, but I feel we still need another practice big for Gasol/Howard.

This. I'd say we should cut Glock and Morris over Sacre.

I'd say:
Nash/Blake/Duhon
Bryant/Meeks/Odom
Artest/Ebanks/Douglas-Roberts
Gasol/Jamison/Clark
Howard/Hill/Sacre

I don't think you can do much better than that team.

Thats a cool practice format. 3 team scrimmage, with one team cycling out at a time. Make it, take it.
