Training camp in el-segundo?

Phil jackson said in his interview he liked the idea of having training camp in El-segundo..Do you think this is a good idea for players to be so close to home?..Could it become a distraction?

they have it here every other year.

also, most teams have training camp in their hometown.

we (and the warriors) cater to our fans in hawaii and go there everyother year.

Gotta agree with Phil here. You don't think they'd be more focused in LA over Hawaii? The Lakers play all of their games at home and it's not a distraction.

Personally I don't think it's that big a deal. The reporters and players seem to enjoy Hawaii. I know Jerry Buss does. But I think the important stuff is going to go on in the gym, where the guys will be focused.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

Why would they be more distracted at home than in freaking Hawai'i?

positives and negatives to it, just like anything else....they get to have their home comforts but at the same time it's nice to get away (especially to hawaii)....but i dont think there would be any significant difference in training camp whether they're here or in hawaii
