The so called defensive specialist. How much of a difference can this guy make, what does he mean for us?

who really knows. 90% of defense is effort. I mean, you cant learn how to play good defense really. you have to want to put forth the effort to play defense. in the end it's the players who determine how hard they wanna play on defense.

It's gotta mean something, look at what Larry Brown did for the Pistons.

of course.

he can work on many things. Defense is not all about effort. Its about chemistry. The team has to move as a unit on defense. There are so many stuff he can teach them in terms of rotation, zone defense. man to man defense.

He can work on communication, probably teach how the bigs can use their body properly, how they should defend when they have speed or size advantage / disadvantage and things like that.

What teams has he coached before? Did their defence improve after he starting coaching.

he was our coach during the 3 peat and he was with chicago when they went on theeir title runs

I think he will help a bit. we have a pretty young team and I think being abrasive works better with youth.
Hopefully he gets on LO and smush as well

He will help the Lakers with the pick and roll defense.

he was an assistant in New Orleans. lakers wanted him back last off-season but NO wouldn´t allow, so they had to wait a year.

NO hgad a surprisingly well season last year. It wasn´t all JC but well he has done his part.
