L.O. Finally Doing What L.O. Can Do

It’s been a while in coming, but Laker fans are finally seeing what Lamar Odom can turely do.  Everyone has been frusturated the pass two years.  During those two years Lamar Odom as been the focal point of Lakers fans angry vents.  Rants and criticism such as, “Why can’t Lamar shoot more?”  and “Odom puts up 25 one night and 6 the next game, is he a !@#$ing rookie?  He’s supposed to be our second best player.”  People were up in arms during the off season when the Lakers front office wouldn’t trade Lamar for the likes of Jermaine Oneal or Jason Kidd.  I conceed that Lamar’s recent preformances has been a direct result of the acquisition, no I’m not going to call the trade a hiest or robbery, of Pau Gasol.  I’m not going to claim that Kupchak knew that he was going to trade for Gasol.  Playing along Kobe and Gasol has elevated Lamar’s game to the level that we as Lakers fans have seen flashes of.  Lamar is playing finally playing consistenly for a number of reason.  The main reason being that Pau is now the second option and L.O. dosen’t have to take responsibility of being the second score.  However, a reason that many people might forget is that Odom is finally got it together.  Lamar hasn’t pulled a MCL yet, hasn’t torn a shoulder mucsle, I forget exactly what he tore, and most importantly has L.O. stated in a pot-game interview he had time to relax.  Time to let his body heal up and time to recover form the loss of his son.  Laker fans are seeing that Lamar Odom is a very talented and capable player when he is healthy.  My bet is that Odom will be very important in the Lakers’ championship run, because with Odom in the line up Bynum dosen’t have to be pressured to be the Lakers’ third option.  Bynum will most likely become the third option for the Lakers eventually, but right now the young center is still learning how to play the game.  With Odom, Bynum will have the Luxury of being the thrid option without really having to committe to the role beacuse Odom has shown that he can and shines as a third option.
