My trade days as an italian Laker fan

So…it’s hard to be a Laker fan in Italy!
You live for your team,but you live 9 hours ahead of it…
When things get hot,these days about gettin’ KG (Oh,God please make it real!!!!) as the days when the Lakers play ball,it’s late afternoon or late evening in L.A.,but it’s late night here in Italy!
How many nights spended with eyes wide red in front of the LCD of my Mac,how many times i pushed the Goddam “Reload button” on my browser,in search of a little,minimun poor news,while my eyes were about to shut down themselves…
But, you know what?
I’m happy,i’m a happy Laker fan,our team gives us everything,the dream,the championship,the drama,the greatest win and the worst defeat..
It’s not boring in being a Laker fan,no doubt about it,and i know it for 23 years,since 1984!
Yes,i’ve been through all of this in the last 23 years.
I can perfectly remember the days when the web was a dream,here in Italy,and I had to wait as longh as a week to know if the lakers had won or lost a game..
I woke up at night (2 or 3 o’clock a.m.) to watch the 1985 NBA Finals..
I was 12,i lived in Vicenza and near my city there was (and still exist) an american military base,so, for some reasons,i could recieve the TV frequency that showed an american channel for the american soldiers in the base.

My parents were sleeping,I was so excited to see the Finals i can’t tell you how much!!
Everyone knows how it gone that year,the ending was amazing!

Since then,I lived my life as an italian fan of the Lakers and,now that I’m 35, married and with a beautiful daughter, I ‘m still the old good purple and gold fan!

Today I can watch the draft,I can follow a lot of L.A. matches through TV and Internet, but this year’s off season is killing me!

Whether is KG or another superstar it doesn’t matter..but please, Mitch,do something and do it now!
Do it for us,for fans like me who stay awake ’till 4 or 5 o’clock a.m. just for the love we have for our beloved team!
