2013 Draft Discussion

Postby Weezy on Thu Jun 27, 2013 7:22 pm

First round almost over and nobody is talking draft? Thing that stands out to me, Cody Zeller at 4, are you serious MJ? How can they be this bad consistently, I could not be less impressed with him picked that high, I thought he might go between 10 and 20. Nice player, he could be good, but he got pushed around in the tournament and I was unimpressed.

Hoping SIVA can drop down so we can draft him.

The booing of Stern is hilarious.

Really strange draft. 1st Pick was supposed to between Noel and Len, out of nowhere it's Bennett. Len goes 5 and Noel 6. Somehow Zeller goes before them at 4. McLemore, another possible at 1, falls to 7. Has been different than all the recent drafts that is for sure.

It is a strange draft, the top 10 was not what many expected. Loving the Stern booing ha ha, And he's gone soon so he doesn't give a f***. He's about to announce his last pick ever as commissioner. :jam2: Now watch Silver take over and be even worse, a terrible tyrant. :man10:

Sterns last pick with Hakeem coming out was actually kinda fun. Lol at them cheering Silver then turning on him as the next commish.

Only 17 picks to go to see what player I've never heard of that we take, or hear "the Los Angeles Lakers have traded the 48th pick for cash considerations". Oh, and I'm talking to myself here, no draft fans out there?

After the first 15 picks or so I lost interest in watching it on TV, plus not having our own selection till the 48th pick doesn't help.

Philly just took Glen Rice Jr. I was hoping he'd drop down to us but I knew it was a reach to happen.

And then this happens:

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 13s
Philadelphia has traded Glen Rice Jr., to Washington for the 38th and 54th picks, league source tells Y! Sports.

Lol, yeah it's not compelling, but I always watch, tradition and such. Plus you never know how these players will turn out, looking back on drafts later on seeing who did what is more interesting to me when I see the draft.

whats a draft? My team is usually too good to worry about the draft. When they suck and have to worry about the draft I don't acknowledge the season. :man1:
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Dave McMenamin ‏@mcten now
There goes Ray McCallum at No. 36. Chad Ford had the Lakers taking him at 48

Not too concerned about missing on Ray McCallum, hard to be when I've never heard of him.

Just laughable how ESPN continues to bash the Lakers and our chances in retaining Dwight. Nothing new.

^^ Yeah, I'd be there too but I got outvoted in my house. Plus Parks and rec is pretty damn funny. Are we close to our pick yet?

I'm actually not mad or confused with this pick, I know him, he can flat shoot, and he's a tall stretch 4.

Could Luke Walton shoot or play defense? Was he 6'11''?

Starting to believe our FO consists of a bag of potato chips, three dogs, Jim Buss & Mitch. How do you pass on Siva for Ryan freakin' Kelly? Unbelievable.
