SC's Balkman Declares For Draft

Postby JSM on Thu Apr 27, 2006 8:56 pm

Real GM: SF Chronicle - Renaldo Balkman, forward from South Carolina, declared himself eligible for the NBA draft Thursday, though he has not hired an agent.

Balkman averaged 9.6 points and 6.3 rebounds this past season, but came on strong later in the year.

An NBA advisory committee, according to coach Dave Odom, said that he could go somewhere in the middle of the second round or after.

When he shows up, he's as good as anybody, but he only shows up about every other game.

Not even close...

Hustle, tough, physical...none of which describe pittsnoggle...

He has been the heart and soul of a good South Carolina team that has played BIG in the NIT for the last couple of year, winning the Championship last year and getting to the Championship game this year...

Do I think he's going to be good in the NBA? Not really...

Best case is he turns out to be a Haslem clone...

But he's a guy you would LOVE to have on your team...sorta like Turiaf...

That's the thing, USC won the NIT two years in a row, but had the talent to do much more. Balkman is a diamond in the rough if he gets the right kind of leadership.
