THV: Arkansas basketball player Ronnie Brewer has announced that he will enter the NBA draft.
Brewer says he’s not sure where he will go, but is ready to “test the market” and see what his options are.
Brewer made the announcement Thursday in a news conference at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville.
Brewer says he won't hire an agent, which gives him the option of returning to the Razorbacks. He could continue at UA if he does not like how his professional prospects play out.
Coach Stan Heath joined Brewer at the news conference. Heath says he supports Brewer's choice to explore the draft. Heath says he is content to wait for Brewer to make a final decision later on whether to pursue professional basketball.
Brewer did not set a personal deadline for deciding on whether to go to the NBA.
Brewer averaged an SEC leading 18.4 points per game last season.
