Shannon Brown is the more refined player with more polish. He has similar physical attributes as Diaz, to a lesser extent however, with his undersized frame, his athleticism and his decent speed. However, he takes smarter shots, seems to play better within an offense, and improved somewhat this season. He seems to have less potential than Diaz because of his lesser physical attributes and his more refined game, but he's NBA-ready and he's shown that in workouts already. He's a lock for the first round and I would probably take him above Diaz because he's refined and athletic. Actually has a semblance to Fred Jones.
Guillermo Diaz combines extreme athleticism with extreme quickness but seems to be more of a sparkplug type currently. He's been everywhere on draft boards ever since the start of this season and he's anywhere from the late 1st round to early 2nd round, depending on which team bites for him. He's currently living off his physical tools and his wonderful potential, as he hasn't really improved all that much this year. His stock was actually at its peak last year when scouts knew little about him and he had more potential. Nonetheless, he still has a wonderful offensive game, albeit streaky, but that seems to a dime a dozen within PGs. Thus, he's really living off his physical attributes. I'm sort of iffy on whether he's a good 1st round candidate, and I have doubts about whether he can conform to the team system as he has shown little PG skills (although Brown hasn't shown much either). Nonetheless, he seems too unrefined for the Triangle and if I had the option, I would take Brown.
