Junior guard Shelvin Mack of Butler confirmed Tuesday that he has submitted his name for the NBA draft.
If Mack leaves early, he would be the second Bulldog player in as many years to do so. Gordon Hayward left after his sophomore season and became Butler's first NBA player in more than a half-century.
Mack endured a bumpy start to this season and did not even make the All-Horizon League first team. He averaged 16.0 points and 3.4 assists per game.
However, he averaged 20.3 points during the NCAA tournament, including 30 points against Pittsburgh and 27 against Florida, while helping the Bulldogs reach the championship game for the second year in a row. He sank 23 three-pointers in the tournament, the fourth-highest total in history.
Mack is considered either a late first-round or early second round pick.
