Call it now, Rookie of the Year for 2007

Who do you all think will be the 2006/2007 Rookie of the Year? I know its early, but i'm just wondering what you guys think about the potential and who will contribute the most in their rookie year. I personally think Tyrus Thomas and Rudy Gay have the most athleticism and talent but i think Adam Morrison will be able to contribute the most and be awarded with the 2007 Rookie of the Year Award. What do you guys think?

I think the Rockets will take Carney, and he will get significant playing time!! Plus, Rockets could be a 5 seed or better next year, so having a rookie maybe on a winning team, and he won't have to create shots with Tmac around!

14 ppg, 46% shooting

rookie of the year may not always mean best player out of the draft...

it's the best player in the right situation, given the PT.

I'll say that LaMarcus Aldridgre is gonna make biggest impact from rookies next season so he'll be ROY

Eh, I dont much care for Aldridge. I think he plays really weak and will have trouble in the NBA. He really struggled against Big Baby and Tyrus Thomas in the last game against LSU. Notice all those fade away baskets he attempted?

Yeah i agree ROY is not the most talented rookie, but the one who contributes the most that year.

i completely disagree on aldridge being nba ready. he's less polished than villanueva and isn't that good.

yeah i agree wtih that too. he's slow and he's gonna get knocked down quick. 12 points per game or + more depending on what kind of team will take him. i'm gonna compare this fool to channing frye.

if carney adapts well to the game, look for similar qualities to a vince carter type rookie year for him. he's got the speed, the athleticism, and plus he has a huge wingspan.

Morrison will win in a land slide if he gets on a team where he can play.

But that if is Shaq size. I don't see him slipping past 5 and he will not win ROY on any of those teams.

He'll be picked from 3-5. If the ping pong balls fall how they are projected to, that will be the Cats, Hawks, and Raptors.

Hawks would be the dumbest team in the history of the NBA, if they took another SF.

And there's no way he's winning it with the Cats or Raptors.

He needs to go to a playoff team to have a chance to succeed or win any type of an award. And I don't see him winding up at any of those teams.

What the hell does that statement prove? Morrison is the best player in this weak draft. Yes, he has the same color of skin as those guys but he is going to be better. Skin color means nothing.

He's not going to be the best in the league but he will make the all-star team a few times at least. Sene and Rondo and some more of these young guys may eventually surpass him but Morrison will be the best next year.

There are a lot of rookies of the year that didn't make the playoffs. Hopefully, the Hawks will trade Josh Smith to us. That guy is blossoming into an outstanding player.

Yeah, I would probably take Mike Miller really highly if he was in this draft. Not too many of these guys will reach even his level.

I realize that. I didn't mean that the playoff birth would translate into him getting the award, but I don't see Morrison as a star. He will be a great shooter, but he is going to need help. And I only think he can play the type of role that will allow him to succeed on a playoff level team.

I agree with you then. I don't see him as a star either. There are no immediate stars in this draft. He's just the best of the worst.
