Lets face the Lakers are not going to be able to pick up a potential star with our 26th pick, so instead of reaching on a player with "potential" that will NEVER materialize - We need to draft some studs for defense.
I would like to see the LAKERS draft:
#26 - PJ Tucker (ala Ron Artest)
#51 - Bobby Jones (ala Bruce Bowen)
Both of these guys would be great off the bench and both could be lock down defenders for our team. It would greatly help out Kobe to have Jones guard the opposing scoring threat for stretches of the game and Tucker could guard the opposing big SF/PF to spell ODOM.
This in return could help our offense by giving ODOM and KOBE some help on D - so they don't have to use all of their energy on D.
We could build a great defensive team with players like:
Sasha - ball hawk (tries anyway)
Jones - lock down defender
Kobe - lock down defender
Brown - post defense
Turiaf - shot blocker - energy guy
Bynum - shot blocker
Odom - rebounder
PJ Tucker - Ron Artest type player
Parker - ball thief - top 20 in steals
We then trade Cook & Mihm to fill our starting PG spot - Banks????
Final Roster:
Banks
Kobe
Walton
Odom
Brown
---------
Sasha
Parker
PJ Tucker
Turiaf
Bynum
Bobby Jones
Melvin Ely
-----------
Wafer
Kukoc
Profit
