Draft Express: Saer Sene Cancels Treviso

Draft Express: Saer Sene Cancels Treviso

Postby JSM on Fri Jun 02, 2006 10:25 pm

Draft Express: 7-foot Senegalese prospect Saer Sene will not be playing at the Eurocamp in Treviso next week, instead settling just for measurements and the physical at the Orlando pre-draft camp.

DraftExpress has received plenty of feedback from numerous workouts that Sene played in so far, both from players that he went up against as well as other people in the gym who got to watch him play. Sene is apparently doing extremely well so far, surprisingly shooting the ball much better than advertised and picking up everything that is taught to him very quickly. “Hard worker” and “great upside” are the two most common comments we’ve heard so far. The Utah Jazz apparently liked him so much that they asked him to stay in town for another day to work out for local legend Karl Malone. Sene worked out today for Memphis, and will be in Boston tomorrow. He has Chicago and Sacramento lined up and might settle just for working out for those teams. He is apparently a lot more concerned with landing in the right situation on a team that he will be able to learn and grow rather than trying to get picked as high as he can. Most of the feedback we’ve received from around the league indicates that he is slowly working his way into the late lottery and is unlikely to fall past Phoenix at 21. He is measuring out at 6-11 barefoot with a ridiculous 7-8 wingspan.

When I first read his scouting report, I though he's nothing more then mid-2nd round player, but now he's going to be drafted in 1st round...

He is RAW. We have enaugh prospects with Kwame, Bynum and Turiaf.
What we need is a Sheldon Williams type of player, a banger to cover the PFs and make the hustle plays and a defensive minded PG.

yes sheldon is proven to a point but the boy is inconsistent, anyone bigger than him abuses him to the max. this is no elton brand type of player, even marco killingsworth abused this guy to pieces.

The bad thing is that he's nearly a top 20 pick right now, but he needs to go to a team who has depth at C, so he can take a few years and learn from the bench, because he's extremely raw. None of the teams in the range of where he will likely be picked have that type depth. The best team for him, out of the 1st round teams is the Mavs. They are the only team that can afford to draft a C to sit. But I'm not sure if he will be around at pick #28.

Did yall see this part?...
Draft Express: The Utah Jazz apparently liked him so much that they asked him to stay in town for another day to work out for local legend Karl Malone.

That's a great compliment, wanting him to workout in front of one of the greatest big men to ever play.

Love this guys upside..All the scouting reports tell me hes a Samuel Dalembert player. I think this guy will turn out better though.

I really want this guy on the Lakers. If hes available at our 20 something pick I want him..Unless Jordan Farmar is available

he had no formal weight training before...

results will be very fast...(you know how it is when you first start working out)

isn't even close to his plateau yet....

combine that with his 7'8 wingspan... and the fact that he has been playing for 2 years only...

very scary...
