Arsalan looks like a reasonably athletic Iranian guy.

What's our record on these work outs? Do we often draft guys from our workout sessions? I would assume so, but I haven't really paid attention to that the last few years.

Are we actually working these guys out?

Or are we giving them a questionnaire of what they would in certain drills, if we actually did work them out?

That's not by LAL's choice - agents won't send likely lottery picks to work out for teams like L.A. that are out of the lottery.

I did some research on BJ Young and I really like this kid. If he ends up being picked lat in the 2nd round it will be a steal for that team

Of those six I'd take Siva or Kadhi. I think Kadhi could be an interesting player next to Howard. Someone who can space the floor and is still very athletic. I'm not sure if he's strong enough for the NBA, but he can get there.

Siva is a given. He's smart, he can get to the rim, and he's a quality player.

I've been hoping for Siva.

He turned heads in the combine, but teams are still dismissing him because of his "size", thinking he drops to the 2nd round.

I hope we can snag him with our late pick.

He'd be a good pick and a good bet. His size really is an issue, but he's athletic and can get to the rim. He's a smart player and I think he can at least be a good player to have on a roster.

Posted this in the 2013 Second Round thread:

Defense, imo, is a moot point for point guards. Size doesn't really tell the whole story. Look at Morris, Blake, those guys are decent defenders, yet we get torched on a nightly basis by any guard. Then you look at players like Nate Robinson, who's main role is to score, defensively, isn't THAT big of a liability.

And then, you look at players like Avery Bradley (6'2) and Eric Bledsoe (6'1 - Same as Siva) who are primarily known as defensive specialists at their position. What do these two have in common that some point guards don't? Speed and athleticism. Quick hands, ability to jump passing lanes. That's what makes them good defenders at PG. Siva is probably THE MOST athletic point guard in this draft, and one of the speediest. AND if you've watched some of Siva's highlights, he's a pretty good help defender off the ball and block some shots.

But I'm not looking at Siva for his defensive ability, nor to be a shooter, but his ability to attack the paint. He creates havoc with his speed and is very underrated passer. He' could fit well into MDA's uptempo, PnR style as well. Tony Parker (also 6'1) isn't a well known shooter, even though he is known to hit some big shots, but his game is attacking the paint with his speed. Something I believe Siva can do.

Many project him to be a mid-late 2nd round pick, or even go undrafted. I think he'll go early second with the kind of pre-draft workouts he's been having. If the Lakers have a chance in the 2nd to draft him, I REALLY hope we don't pass up on him. He is something this team desperately needs.

Highlight video for reference:

He's got the speed and the leaping, but what about his arm length and his strength? Those are going to be key at his small stature.

Avery Bradley and Eric Bledsoe aren't just athletic, but they've got long arms to help them defend at this level.
