I'm hoping we suck beyond belief, barely miss the playoffs, and end up with the #1 pick(a la Orlando in the early 90's). We use that to select Harrison Barnes from North Carolina. Next, package Walton(expiring) to get John Wall.

John Wall
Kobe Bryant
Harrison Barnes
Pau Gasol
Andrew Bynum

Problems are all solved!

Oops, I meant Pau Gasol and Luke's expiring to get John Wall from Washington in the summer. Therefore, we would have Kobe still, but three blue chip superstars in John Wall(PG), Harrison Barnes(SF) and Andrew Bynum(C). This address the lakers key issues, while getting younger, and adding quality characters to the Lakers' organization. I believe Barnes will one day be the head of the players union. He's an erudite individual!

It means if the pick is in the top 20. We won't get it.

Matt Barnes - "I respect all my opponents but I fear no one."

Deron Williams - “I hate ’em, you know,” he said the other day. “I hate the Lakers. They’re so good. I hate them because they win all the time. They’re a tough team. … We definitely talk about it. It’s not a secret. We hate the Lakers.”

Wizards trade their franchise PG AND their pick?...for an aging superstar on a terrible contract and a decent expiring?...

It's always entertaining reading your ideas.

As long we are talking 2012 draft.. although I don't think he'll jump to the NBA right now, I'm watching Michigan play... Man, this kid Trey Burke is good! Darius Morris leaving Michigan worked out well for them.

Yes, though if that's the case, we wait next year and see if it drops below top 20 again. Basically for that particular pick, I think it's top 20 protected 4(?) years in a row before it's unprotected. Let's hope the Mavs win a few extra games.
