Lakers Draft Trade Talk Bigger than we all thought???

Postby The Laker Link on Thu Jun 22, 2006 11:17 am

Found this fourm/post http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?t=25965&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 at LG.net and this is what it had to say...

It was from Chad Ford talking about what the Lakers are doing over there for the draft that is next week.....

A rumor that was floated last week had them talking with the Los Angeles Lakers about a deal that would send Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum to Chicago for Tyson Chandler and the No. 2 pick....

One rumored deal has the Warriors swapping Dunleavy, Murphy and the No. 9 pick to the Lakers for Lamar Odom and Aaron McKie....

Other interesting trade scenarios have cropped up for the Jazz. In particular, the Warriors, Lakers and Bucks have shown interest in Boozer.

The Lakers deal would probably have to be a three-way trade: Boozer and the No. 14 going to L.A., with Odom ending up at another destination. Odom wouldn't be a great fit for Utah, but he could be the player to get them the two guard they want....

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers have been shopping Andrew Bynum and Chris Mihm. Lamar Odom can be had, too, but the price is significantly higher.

Their target in the draft? Brandon Roy.

So thought's...

This was my thought that I posted over there...

Talk to Chicago about Mihm, Bynum, and Sasha or George or someone for Chandler and #2

Then do the Warrior deal...bad deal but something...

and then see what happens...

Don't have much hi hopes for this thing I just thought...but maybe it wouldn't be half bad...

Gives us help on back-ups and great players...

Then we got #2, #9, and #26 to pick up people like Roy, Reddick, and Gierrmo Diaz or whatever his name is.....

Don't mind the name...that is really me....

Chicago deal - no.
Warriors deal. I don't know, but more realistic.
Boozer? Yes, please. But who would be #14? Is it possible to get someone good, ready to play @ 14?

That would probably result in

Banks
Kobe
#14 SF
Boozer
Kwame.

It can be bad, or excellent, all depending on that draft pick. And I don't feel too confindent about that. :bang:

Or perhaps, LA can tradeMihm and resigned George, Cook and McKie for a good SF?

In that case, it would be possible to draft a good young player and "groom" him like Bynum.

Then we'd and up with

Banks/Smush
Kobe/Sasha/#14?
Good SF in a trade (suggestions? Artest)/Luke
Boozer/Turiaf
Kwame/Bynum

This one really depends if Mitch can get a good SF in a trade for 2-3 of our players.

I would want Ben Gordon. He would be the perfect compliment to Kobe in the backcourt. Trade Odom to Chicago for Gordon and the #2. If Chicago would go for that deal...One can only dream.

If we could grab Gordon or Heinrich and the number 2 I would jump on that deal.

Im not fond of trading Odom. He needs to stay a Laker. He is not worth anyone we could get with the #2 pick. I would consider the trade maybe if it was Nocioni/#2/#16 for Odom. Then trade Mihm/DG/Cook/#16 for Boozer/#14, get Banks.

Banks/Smush/Sasha
Kobe/Roy
Nocioni/Luke
Boozer/Turiaf/C.Simmons (draft)
Kwame/Bynum/FA

That would be ideal, but a dream

Remember my dream for this team might come true, if some u who remember i posted a possible change over in our roster, i had us getting: J. Terry(UFA) Ben Wallace(Sign & Trade) Bulls #2= Brandon Roy, outgoing: Odom, Mihm, McKie, Bynum. If Mitch could make this happen i say we will win the title or atleast contend very heavily. And Phil Jackson is very high on Brandon Roy usually Phil dont care bout Rookies but he likes this kid.

Brown/Wallace/Turiaf
Wallace/Turiaf/Brown
Roy/Walton
Bryant/Rush/Profit
Terry/Parker/Sasha

Exactly. I'm all for getting Boozer or Roy, but as long as we don't trade Bynum or Odom, which means we have no shot at Roy. We should be able to get Boozer though for a package with Mihm as the focal point.

24/7 proved at the end of the season and in the playoffs that they are worthy of being built around. Get another frontcourt scorer and a good PG and we're set to make a run in the west.

What about George and Odom for Chandler, #2, #16?, and Gordon...

Maybe trade Mihm and others for Boozer or something....Get #14...

You guys...do you know how many picks we can pick up this year if Mitch just thinks and makes the right trades and stuff???

Don't trade Odom. We need to somehow get a 2nd/3rd option type player without trading him. If that means trading Bynum, so be it. Trading Odom for draft picks is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I wanna win now. :freak2:

I like the idea, however, do you really think teams are willing to just give away there draft picks? They have scouts too... most likely BETTER scouts then us. They won't be as willing to just send away their picks, as we all like to believe.

Mihm (and others) for Boozer AND #14... p i p e. There is zero chance that all of the Utahs management forget that they are trying to actually improve their team. Why on earth would they do that?

Ok, ok...I'm with you there...

Here...why doesn't Mitch do this???:

Utah Gets: Mihm, George, '08 2nd Pick

Lakers Get: Boozer

Chicago Gets: Bynum and a future pick ('08 or '09)

Lakers Get: Chandler and #2

Now...here would be the good thing...

Boozer and Chandler can be the new butt budies of the team...mayeb sometimes (if Chandler can play Center) they can even play at the same time...but mostly switching each other in every quater....

In this senerio you lose Bynum...which is a bummer...BUT...you keep Odom...and Kwame....

So you got the core of Kobe, Odom, and Kwame...but then you got Chandler and Boozer in the mix to help out...and then MLE goes to Banks...or if Roy is a PG and Phil trusts him enough...Roy is the PG...

SO MANY POSSIBILITIES...MITCH JUST NEEDS TO THINK AND PULL THEM OFF.......

all ideas suck. period.

Why should we get Murphy and Dunleavy? two very soft and inconsistent losers with toxic contracts? this is colpletely bullcrap.

Odom and Bynum for another C? make it Chandler, Mihm and Kwame? this is bull too.

Odom for Boozer? also Bull. lamar is the faciliator of the triangle, we could get Booz for significantly less, Phil would NOT allow that, nor would the Lakers make any lateral move. They want to improve not retool.

Neither Bynum nor Odom is available. And I like it. :jam2: :jam2: :jam2:

all rumors are BS. book it.
