Looks like Houston is getting #4 pick!

Rocket forums and DraftExpress are reporting that Rockets are close to sending Juwan Howard and #8 for D.Miles and #4. They will then take B.Roy, who coincidentally will visit Houston one last time.

If they make this deal, I would have to say they are pretty stacked.

believe it when i see it. even if it does happen, i don't see roy as a good fit in houston. they need shooters, and they need the ball in tmac's hands (he's not nearly as effective off the ball).

I do not see how Portland accepts this. I mean, don't get me wrong, they aren't the best run franchise, but they are getting shafted here. Juwan Howard???? Washed up and expensive. I'd say they are dumping salary, but Juwan probably makes just as much as Miles. I can't understand why on earth Portland would do this......

Portland changed their offer. Was Miles, 30 and 31, now Miles and 4. Maybe it can happen with that change.

that is a really terrible deal for Portland

they are basically trading Darius Miles for Juan Howard and a chance to move down for spots in the draft, I think that is a bad deal for Portland and skillful negotiating by Houston- if this deal comes to pass- Houston are thieves

Juan Howard and 8th for Darius Miles and 4th- they aren't losing anything in that deal, and gain much more....

I cannot believe this one. I say its bogus, not gonna happen.

I think the only legit rumor dealing with Houston is the one where thye send the 8th and Luther Head to Minny for the 6th- to have the chance to draft either Brandon Roy or Rudy Gay....

Roy is a perfect fit for Houston. Why would would they want Rudy Gay or Adam Morrison when they have a superstar at that position? He is a slasher who can relieve some of the ballhandling for Tmac. PLus, I hear this kid can play lock down D.

One thing Houston may be overlooking is that Roy might not even be on the board at #4. Charlotte likes him at #3...

On a side note, I was really looking forward to Darius Miles coming to LA.

there is still a chance, I doubt this Portland deal goes through, I think the deal that will happen in the top 10 is the rumored Minny and Houston deal

no. roy is not a perfect fit. tmac is at his best when he handles the rock (it's a catch-22, as he also gets worn down by doing so). he's not a catch and shoot player, and he's generally pretty lazy off the ball. houston needs to get some athletes (roy is a so-so athlete) and some reliable distance shooters on the floor with yao and tmac. i just think roy isn't the guy for them. they could easily swing tmac to the 2 and pick up morrison or gay--imo, they'd be better if they did.

J. Howard is signed thru 2009. If Portland is serious about reducing payroll, this rumor makes no sense at all.

exactly, there is nothing Portland gains from this, it might as well be the league giveaway because there is nothing positive for Portland out of this.....

Yeah, I mean the Blazers make some awful moves, but this would be glaringly awful.

DAng do they really hate Miles that much. The blazers get raped in that deal.

at least in our deal we give them capspace and a good center for Miles
