Rockets-Hawks Draft Day Deal?

pretty much to sum it up, Numerous sources say that the Hawks will draft Brandon Roy at #5 and then trade him to the Rockets for Sheldon Williams (who will be drafted at #8) and Luther Head.

Good deal for both teams

Houston is the perferct team for Roy.

Houston's definitely moving somewhere in the draft. Another article was published that quoted Dawson saying that they've tried moving up, and they've tried moving down. Whether this is the final deal or not, they definitely aren't staying where they are.

Agreed, as it pertains to this deal. But Dawson is looking to make a move, and most likely, it looks like it'll include Head.

I think they have their eyes on a number of players that they want both that they would have to move up for (Roy) and that they could move down for and still have a chance at. If Roy is off the board by pick 5, then maybe their plan is to trade out of the lottery and pick somebody else further down, and maybe get 2 picks in the trade process.

yeah of course its dependent on that. we know he isnt going #1 and probaly not #2, the bobcats have the third pick and Roy canceled the workout with them. So it leaves number 4 and 5. Who has the number 4 pick?

is this Roy fella worth that? Luther Head is a solid player and I think Williams will be a solid big man in the NBA. some1 hook me up with a youtube video.

Imagine if we made trades that actually benefitted our team, as oppose to making trades that benefit the other team.

Sorry, I couldn't help it. Anyways, if Rockets make this deal, they easily could be a top 4 West team.

I like it on Atlanta's side more then houston.

Atlanta gets probaly a starting PF in Williams which they needed for YEARS and a solid PG in head.

the last thing the hawks need is another forward. their best bet is drafting randy foye. hed be the best guard in the draft because brandon roys not going to slip past 4.

The Hawks desperately need a PF. At this point B.Cook and Slava would be improvements which is saying alot. If Williams becomes an Antonio Davis then that would be huge boost for the Hawks.

getting head makes up for them losing roy i guess...they benfit greatly. get sheldon and get head at the same time
