Draft Express: Sources at LSU claim that Freshman Power Forward Tyrus Thomas is tentatively scheduled to conduct a press conference on Monday at 3 PM to announce he’s entering the 2006 NBA draft. As of right now he is “testing the waters” and will not be hiring an agent. How long that lasts is remained to be seen, as Thomas has, from the information DraftExpress gathered, reportedly done his homework with NBA GMs and been informed that he is expected to be a top 5 pick in this year’s upcoming draft. DraftExpress exclusively reported that Thomas has made up his mind and is expected to announce his decision last week.

Im not too big on Thomas. He has tremendous upside but his talent is too raw. I think of him in the same boat with Chris Wilcox when he entered the draft. Everyone was hyped about this talent because of what he did during Maryland's title run. Same here with Thomas, he has proven anything aside from the fact that he is extremely atheletic. Plus he can't shoot for the life of him.
