Good luck to the big fella. :jam2:

I really believed Drew was half-in and half-out of the team. He was acting out like teenagers do from time to time. This was the main reason I was onboard with the Howard swap cause both of them checked out on their teams. I wish the big fella luck

He had a chance to make snide comments about the Lakers or Howard or Kareem and didn't. Nicely done

He did say Eastern Conference has a lot of decent centers LOL

Good point. Reminded me of a kid who was telling his parents basically that he's ready for the big world and he's a big kid now. Well, he's got his chance. Good luck to him.

Bynum for all of his indiscretions is a good kid. Things come easy for him from a physical and mental standpoint so there is no qualms for him about anything nor a pressing need to prove himself to ANYONE other than meeting his OWN goals.

Bynum should do well in Philadelphia under a demanding coach in Collins who will be on him constantly about his focus and attitude. His biggest adjustments will be being the focus of defensive gameplans as the 76ers likely main option and leading his younger teammates. Bynum should be able to handle that top dog role he always wanted. The question is now how his new crew will adjust to him.

Very happy for Drew, also for those of you who know me, the Sixers are my 2nd favorite team, so I'm excited for them to do well!!! They have a very solid supporting cast around drew, got some shooters in Wright, Young and J-Rich, got distributors in Holiday and Turner, and got a semi stretch 4 in Thaddeus Young, and even Spencer Hawes could play some 4....and they got KWAME backing him up at the 5...lol. They have a solid team with a solid bench...I think they are going to be in the playoffs next year..not sure how high they can go....and not even sure if they're better than Boston yet....or even NYK...i say maybe 5th or 6th seed....they could be better than Brooklyn, but I see them at the 6th spot right now. Drew can reallyt ake his game to the next level though.

Collins had them playing well despite the crazy scheduling of last season. I was dubious of them making it past Chicago until the Rose injury. Without the lockout induced craziness this upcoming season, Philly would be able to prep better over the long haul and get their cohesion properly. They are a nice young team but still missing that one gamechanging player that can take over when needed.

They now have a post presence in Bynum with younger players now taking the place of older vets in Iguadala and Brand. They can run at will plus dumping it into 33 in half court sets and play through him.

Howard has a legacy of centers to live up to in Los Angeles... Bynum has the same in Philly with Chamberlain and Moses Malone albeit he has two rings to start with.

dammit, sucks to see Drew go even though I was absolutely FOR this deal.

There is a bond between the Lakers and Drew...maybe its because he has symbolized hope for us here and he has been growing before our eyes...there is a special relationship. Its not like one of those "come and go" players. Andrew was raised in LA, he is part of the family and he has been getting much love here for the past 7 years.

Whatever happens, I hope he will go on to have a great career. He is a good kid. Even though he had his fair share of immaturity here (missing trips and partying with the playboys, parking on handicapped slots, issues with coaches, etc.)...he handled Kobe's parking video amazingly well, he handled all the trade rumors every year amazingly well..

thumbs up, the NBA needs more of this type of guys.

That was the most expressive and excited I've ever seen Drew, maybe he genuinely didn't like being in LA. Usually with our media he's stone-faced and gives boring, short answers.

Wow...that was kinda sad. It's funny to watch franchises overreact. All respect to Andrew, he's an all-star player, but he's not good enough to be the face of a franchise or actually bring that franchise any sort of success. This guy acts like they just traded for the best player in the world. Philly definitely improved but a contender? Not quite.

EDIT: Also...the hyping up of Jason Richardson?? Dood is a journeyman.

He's going to get the Celtics at least 2 more times now and he's going to bring that fiery Laker hate with him.

Kill 'em, Drew.

SI just reported that Philly is looking to move Brown and Hawes either near the end of training camp in October or prior to the trade deadline in February. It would be wiser for them to lose Brown instead of Hawes who can at least produce on offense as a backup. I don't see Bynum playing over 35 minutes a game. It would be a strain on those knees of his.

C'mon, when's the last time they had something to get this excited about? They just acquired the 2nd best big man in the NBA for a very reasonable price. I don't think he is a franchise player (yet?), but Philly fans are justified in their excitement, imo. Also, perhaps they are trying to show how much they appreciate him as a player because of the eventual contraction extension choice decision that looms down the road.
